It was an important game for our bowlers to get a feeler or the weather and pitch conditions.

Patrons were off to a flying start with 48 runs in the first 4 overs thanks to the 26 wide deliveries.

Usman and Shahbaz could not find the ideal line and length and were certainly feeling
the heat. Usman had to take a breather after 2 overs.

Cyrus Tahir did a fantastic job as captain as he put himself in crucial fielding positions and saved many runs while diving everywhere.

While chasing, Umer Nadeem was out bowled for just 2 runs in the 2nd over.

Wajahat Naseem playing at 1 down again was very entertaining. He hit a huge six and a couple of fours in his short innings of 19(8).

Kashif joined asad at 2 down.
Asad’s innings was exceptional as he hit 12 boundaries and 2 sixes to score 80* of just 52 balls.

Kashif who has recently joined in his 2nd boot camp and is a father of 3 children scored 49 which was not without drama. He tells us that he has joined the boot camp to reduce weight but we think he is there to gain something else. While he played and missed a dozen deliveries trying to play his favorite shot called “CANCZ” – “Cut A No Cut Zone” delivery, he ended up reaching near to his first half century.
About the Kashi “CANCZ”- he can literally go into any position playing that shot, once he tried to play a CANCZ on a yorker and there was a match where he even hit the keeper’s hand. In case you are missing the point here, the Kashi CANCZ is always the shot which does not hit the ball at any point; it is just an attempt to play that cut shot. Well anyways, we’ll have to talk about the boot camp in some other post but Hats off to Kashif, who did a wonderful job as keeper in such hot conditions, with bowlers throwing wide deliveries at him.
He looked solid overall and was ready to give us some misbah pushups as he tried to hit a 6 to reach his half century. Unfortunately he was out caught in the deep. We couldn’t see the pushups but the Drama Queen had some other tricks up his sleeve. As soon as he was dismissed, he started walking back and fell down dramatically just after crossing the wickets. I’ll not write more to that but would post a footage showing our reactions to that.

Asad Khwaja certainly changed our perception towards his batting skills. He played aggressively and there was hardly any false shot in his innings. We hope that we would get to see more good scores from him against all sorts of bowling attacks.

We won the toss and choose to bat and made 194 in 30 overs. Unfortunately we lost the match Bedian spin won the match in last over by 1 wicket. A good friendly match and a good experience for youngsters.
