We’ve seen some great initiatives from the PSL management, listening to fan demands and making changes. But let’s be honest: there’s a long road ahead to make this a truly top-tier global product. We have to understand that the product is for the fans on TV. If we want to attract the same audiences who tune into the IPL or other major leagues, we will always be compared on arrangement and presentation.

​Perfect pitches: Visibility and sharpness of pitch edges need to be neatly done. The grass needs to be pristine and look homogeneous, just like we see in Chennai.
​Pristine environment: All IT and electric cabling must be hidden. Clutter kills the broadcast vibe.
​Owner etiquette: A professional league shouldn’t have owners seated on boundary fences on sofas. They belong in Pavilion VIP boxes. This is standard elsewhere for a reason.
​Then there is the fan experience. We need activities outside and inside the stadium. Transform the venue! One massive area to improve is using LED advertising. It completely changes the outlook, glows the stadium in a different way, and replaces those outdated, dusty, or dirty cement walls with a modern, professional broadcast feel.
