Pakistan's Aleem Dar has added another honor to his name in umpiring. After a record 551 matches in cricket history, he has become the world's first umpire to officiate for 25 consecutive years.

Born on June 6, 1968, in Gujranwala, Aleem Sarwar Dar made his ODI debut as an umpire in the ODI match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in Gujranwala on February 16, 2000. He soon found a place in the ICC International Panel, from where he became a part of the Elite Panel.

He supervised the Test match between England and Bangladesh in Dhaka on October 21, 2003, and started umpiring in the T20 between Pakistan and Australia at Dubai Stadium on May 7, 2009. Aleem Dar, who has won the award for the world's best umpire three times, has umpired in 231 ODIs and 145 Test matches are on his record. Aleem Dar has officiated in 70 T20 matches.

Aleem Dar, who won the Pride of Performance in 2010 and the Sitara-e-Imtiaz from the Government of Pakistan in 2013, also has the distinction of umpiring in 5 T20 World Cup Cups. Aleem Dar supervised the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy in 2006 and 2009, and was also present on the field when the finals of the ODI World Cup of 2007 and 2011 were played. The final of the Women's World Cup in 2009 is also on his credit as an umpire.

He is also one of the top three umpires to have umpired over 100 Test matches, including umpiring in 100 Test matches at the youngest age. He also has the record of umpiring in the World Cup final at the youngest age. He has been a part of the ICC Elite Panel for 19 consecutive years, Aleem Dar has been nominated for the world's best umpires 6 times. He was named the best Asian umpire by the Asian Cricket Council in 2008.

Aleem Dar received the award for the world's best umpire in 2009, 2010 and 2011 from the International Cricket Council.

Aleem Dar was part of the field umpiring panel along with Ahtisham Raza in the T20 match between Pakistan and New Zealand affected by rain the previous day. When he entered the field, he had a total of 25 years and 2 months in umpiring.
