Update on South Punjab Chess Tournament.

Multan District Chess Championship is going to be held on 27th March 2022. Top 4 will qualify for inter distric Chess Championship 🏆

International Master Shahzad Mirza is no more.
He had a wonderful chess career after becoming Pakistan Chess Champion in 1980 & 1997. He earned the Title of FIDE Master in 1981. Then he represented Pakistan and won 1983 Asian C/ship Won Gold Medal. He went on to win Title of International Master 1985.
1980 - 2014, Represent Pakistan in nine (9) Chess Olympiads.
1991 - 1999 Secretary General Chess Federation of Pakistan.
A genius Chess player and great human being....

Dr Sadeem Lodhi won the Multan District Chess Championship 21st january 2018.
Very fine and best players of Multan fought for their place in Punjab.

Punjab Open Rapid Chess Championship
May 01-03, 2015 at Multan Sports Gymnasium, Kalma Chowk, Multan.
Organized by: Multan District Chess Association in collaboration with Chess Association of Punjab under auspicious of Chess Federation of Pakistan.
Entry fee: Rs. 500/= (National Masters free entry)
Rounds: 9 rounds swiss league system
Time control: 25min+10sec
Prizes: Rs. 30,000 Cash (guaranteed) + Deep fritz 14, Komodo 8 and Houdini 4 software and many more till 15th position.
Accommodation:Limited Free accommodation to outstation players on first come first serve basis.
Ist round will start at 2:30 PM sharp on Friday May 01,2015. Players are advised to reach in time. ( detail schedule of rounds shall be displayed before start of tournament)

Photos taken during Multan District Chess Championship. 33 participants consisting of seasoned tournament players as well as young blood from all over the district indulged in nailbiting encounters in this exciting event. Transparent draws and score sheet was made using SwissPerfect software. The event was conducted smoothly and received positive feedback from every single participant.

Multan District Chess Association plans to conduct similar tournaments on a regular, ongoing basis.

Cash prizes: 1st= Rs 7000, 2nd = 5000, 3rd = 3000, 4-8 = 1000 each, 9-18 = 500 each
