South Africa beat Pakistan by 55 runs in the first T20I at Rawalpindi, what went wrong?

Shaheen is a good player no doubt and might become a good captain as well.However, the management’s treatment of Rizwan is unfair.Under Rizwan’s captaincy, Pakistan won a series in Australia and became the first Asian team to whitewash South Africa in South Africa. Removing him from captaincy might create chaos in the team, just like when Shaheen was removed from the T20 captaincy before the 2024 T20 World Cup..

Remember In most top cricketing nations, captaincy is earned through a gradual and thoughtful process. Countries like Australia, England, and India identify potential leaders early and groom them through domestic tournaments, A-team tours, and vice-captain roles. This helps players understand pressure, decision-making, and team management before taking full charge. Leadership transitions are smooth and strategic, ensuring stability and trust.

In contrast, Pakistan’s approach has often been reactive and politically influenced. Captains are frequently changed after one poor series or due to board pressure, rather than performance or vision. Promising leaders rarely get enough time to build a long-term strategy or bond with the team. Mohammad Rizwan’s removal is the latest example. A disciplined and consistent performer sidelined without clear reasoning. While other nations nurture their captains patiently, Pakistan still struggles with consistency, and this instability continues to cost them progress, unity, and identity as a team.

Only Pakistan can lose while chasing 47 from 47 balls and defending 48 of 3 overs against same opponent.
