A warm welcome tea party was hosted by Professor Dr. Muhammad Tahir, Chairman of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Association, in honor of talented tennis players Muhammad Shoaib Khan and Barkullah for their outstanding performances in the recent ITF Future Tennis Championship.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Shokat Abbas and Irfan Ullah as chief guests.

Among the notable attendees were Siraj Anwar, Irshad Ahmad Durani, Amir Advocate, Malik Umar Ayaz Khalil, and Umar Sajjad.

The coaches present on the occasion included Iftikhar and Zakir Ullah.

On the occasion, Irshad Ahmad Durani also hosted a special dinner in honor of both players at Jalil Kabab House.

The gathering celebrated the remarkable achievements of the young athletes and reaffirmed the commitment of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Association toward the promotion and development of tennis talent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Association proudly honored international tennis star Shoaib Khan at Peshawar Sports Complex for his outstanding performances in the ITF Future I & II Tournaments.

A special cash award of PKR 50,000 was presented by President KPTA & DIG Muhammad Saleem Marwat in recognition of Shoaib Khan’s dedication, hard work, and achievements for Pakistan tennis.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Association proudly congratulates Pakistan’s rising tennis star, Muhammad Shoaib Khan, on his remarkable achievement at the ITF Future Tennis Championship held at the Pakistan Tennis Federation Complex from 26 April to 4 May 2026.

In a thrilling final, Muhammad Shoaib Khan, representing Pakistan, defeated Russia’s Nitakat with a score of 7-6, 4-6, 6-2 to claim the championship title.

This historic victory marks a proud moment for Pakistan tennis, as the national side secured an international title and trophy after two decades.

Senior Vice President of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Association, Malik Umar Ayaz Khalil, discussed Shoaib Khan’s outstanding performance with Adviser to the Chief Minister on Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Taj Muhammad Khan Tarang, Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Tashfeen Haider, former Sports Minister and former President of the Olympic Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Syed Aqil Shah. Pakistan Davis Cup player Barkat Ullah was also present on the occasion.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Association organized a special ceremony at Peshawar Sports Complex to honor and recognize the outstanding achievements of its talented players.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Tashfeen Haider, who attended as the Chief Guest and appreciated the efforts of the players and the Association in promoting tennis across the province.

M. Faizan Afridi brought great pride to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan by securing a Silver Medal at the South Asian Junior Tennis Championship, held in Kathmandu, Nepal, from April 13 to April 19, 2026. In recognition of his remarkable achievement, a cash award of PKR 20,000 was presented—PKR 10,000 by Mr. Kashan Umar Khalil and PKR 10,000 by Mr. Ejaz Ahmad Khan. The prize was formally distributed by the Chief Guest.

In addition, M. Shayan Afridi was awarded PKR 10,000 in recognition of his commendable performance. Furthermore, PKR 5,000 each was awarded to Zakir Ullah, Inam Gul, and Israr Gul for their dedication and commitment to the sport.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Regional Sports Officer Peshawar Mr. Kashif Farhan, Administrative Officer Peshawar Sports Complex Mr. Yousaf Afridi, Chief Coach Mr. Shafqat Ullah, Senior Vice President KP Tennis Association Mr. Malik Umar Ayaz Khalil, along with coaches Roman, Shahid Afridi, and Janan.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Association remains committed to promoting tennis at the grassroots level and continues to support emerging players in achieving excellence at both national and international platforms.
