Karim Benzema has completed a move to Al Ittihad, the reigning champions of Saudi Arabia, becoming the latest soccer star to join the league. The French striker, who spent 14 years and played 648 games for Real Madrid, will now face his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr earlier this year.

Al Ittihad shared a video on Twitter showing Benzema signing a contract until 2026, although the financial terms were not disclosed.

Having won numerous titles, including five Champions League trophies, during his time at Madrid, Benzema expressed his excitement about playing in Jeddah. In his final Madrid game, he bid farewell to the fans by scoring in a 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao.

Al Ittihad, based in Jeddah, clinched their first Saudi league title since 2009, surpassing Al-Nassr, Ronaldo's former team from Riyadh. Benzema will join a squad led by coach Nuno Espirito Santo and featuring Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah, the league's top scorer.
