The Founder/Chairperson of the Foundation Mrs. Cristina von Sperling Afridi is the mother of late Karim Khan Afridi (19 years old), whose death drove her to take on this battle and to create awareness among parents, educationist and communities at large. KKAWF comprise five pillars;

In September 2015, we produced our first play '19 A Shattered Dream'. 2800 students from 28 different schools of Islamabad, Rawalpindi and connecting cities watched this play and participated in the essay competition. 11 students were chosen Ambassador of KKAWF. In February and April 2016, Mrs Cristina von Sperling visited UN Headquarters in New York to participate in UN General Assembly Special Sessions on World Drug Problem. On 27th August 2016, we commemorated for the first time in Pakistan 'International Overdose Awareness Day'. This day is commemorated internationally and we are part of this community. Goal of the Event:
To provide an opportunity for people to publicly mourn for love ones, without feeling of guilt or shame. To give Community members information about the issue of fatal and non-fatal overdose. To send a strong message to current and former drug users that they are valued and their addiction can be reintegrated
To stimulate discussion about overdose prevention and drug policy. To remind all the risk of overdose
To celebrate IOAD, the event was aimed at spreading awareness of overdose losses together with encouraging the youth to get involved in sports and physical activities. SAVE TOMORROW is organized every year at the Pakistan Sports Board (Sports Complex Islamabad) facilities.. The activities are planned for the youth, majorly for the students from different educational institutions of Islamabad, who represented their respective institutions and participated in the event with their counselors and families. The quest is to spread knowledge on prevention of drug use, equip parents and teachers and families on early signs and symptoms of drug use at home, schools and among friends. To prevent drug use and substance abuse we work with our partner’s i.e Education Ministry and Anti Narcotics Force. Through our network of partners we hope to create and nurture youth and families within a supportive community that will not only provide protection but prevent risk of getting trapped. We are devoted to creating awareness for non-addicts to identify and intervene in the hope of preventing tragedies to family, friends, and even people unknown. MISSION:

The mission of the Foundation is to disseminate knowledge on the adverse effects of drug use on individual's, family and society and to break the taboos that exist around drug use and enable people to reach out for help. The Foundation aims to play a role of a catalyst for the youth and the communities they live in, by engaging federal and provincial governments to take up the task through policy making on drug production, prevention and use.
