Hijama, also known as wet cupping therapy, is one of the oldest natural methods of healing and has been practiced for centuries in different civilizations. In Islam, Hijama holds a special status because it is a Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who not only underwent Hijama himself but also encouraged its practice on appropriate occasions. Many Muslims choose Hijama not only for its potential health benefits but also with the intention of reviving this blessed Sunnah. During the procedure, small superficial incisions are made after applying suction cups to help draw out a small amount of blood. When performed by a trained and qualified practitioner under hygienic conditions, Hijama is generally considered safe. Many people report benefits such as relief from muscle and joint pain, back and neck pain, headaches, improved blood circulation, reduced muscle stiffness, enhanced relaxation, and a greater sense of overall well-being. Some studies suggest that Hijama may help certain pain-related conditions. By combining the intention of following the Sunnah with professional, safe practice, Hijama serves as a holistic approach that nurtures both physical wellness and spiritual fulfillment.

Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common form of arthritis affecting the knee. It is a degenerative joint disease in which the cartilage that cushions the ends of the bones gradually wears away. As the cartilage deteriorates, the bones rub against each other, leading to pain, stiffness, swelling, and reduced movement.
