Dear ulti-mates,
in these strange days, we connect with you remotely and send best wishes, above all health, and with these wishes a very difficult message. In The 2020 season, the Poligon games are cancelled.
It seems that it would be possible to write 'because the coronavirus' and basically nothing else needs to be explained, but still, we would like you to know and be aware of how difficult it is for us and what lies beneath the decision.
First of all, we are responsible and taking care of your and our health, we will not be able to guarantee the safety of all participants, and for us it is a priority in the organisation of the competition.
Second, any attempt to analyze the situation shows that in June the situation will not be stable enough to talk about freedom of movement and gathering. Looking at the Poligon calendar, it's at least 2 (and counting with July - 4) rounds of the regular season games.
Third, even if we were careless enough to last in the organization of the league, we don't even have a place to host you and play games. MORiS Chorzów (field administrator) closed all the venues and fields which we have reserved for the organization of the League with appropriate contracts until further notice, and the Chorzów authorities, like many other local authorities, have closed all cultural and sports events. What's more, we received a recommendation from the city hall to consider organizing sports competitions during the September-December period. Organizing Poligon from September to December is not taken into account, due to the weather, shorter day and likely drop in quality due to a tight calendar, and we simply do not want that.
Fourth, there are big, bigger and biggest sports events, including in our discipline (which exposes participants to direct contact and thus transfer the virus) that have been already canceled. We can see that this year EURO 2020 is actually becoming euro 2021. The same is with the Olympics. Leagues like NBA, NFL, NHL, european football national leagues are all in held. We will not try to be smarter, we will not be clever and live the hope that somehow it will be, and at most later we will worry. We are responsible.
What's next?
We would like to thank those teams who have joined the league even this week, believing in our forces and believing that everything will be fine. This season will be one big hunger for the game. For us also the organization and this energy that you have given us and which we are turning into good feedback.
All funds transferred by the reported teams will be returned in full amount without paying any fees, and we take financial losses on ourselves because we are responsible.
At the moment when the situation in the world and in the country is relatively stable, we will try to surprise you with a cool surprise, but it is no time for any promises.
Stay healthy, take care of yourself and don't risk the health and lives of others. Let's be responsible together!

w tych szczególnych dniach, łączymy się z Wami zdalnie i przekazujemy życzenia przede wszystkim zdrowia, a wraz z nimi bardzo trudny komunikat. W sezonie 2020 rozgrywki Poligonu zostają odwołane.
Wydaje się, że można by napisać, bo koronawirus i w zasadzie nie trzeba nic więcej tłumaczyć, ale mimo to, chcielibyśmy żebyście wiedzieli i byli świadomi, jak trudna to dla nas decyzja i czym faktycznie jest ona podyktowana.
Po pierwsze, jesteśmy odpowiedzialni i dbając o wasze i nasze zdrowie, nie będziemy w stanie zagwarantować bezpieczeństwa wszystkim uczestnikom, a dla nas to priorytet przy organizacji zawodów.
Po drugie, wszelkie próby analizy sytuacji wskazują, że jeszcze w czerwcu sytuacja nie będzie na tyle stabilna, żeby mówić o swobodzie poruszania się i gromadzenia. Patrząc na kalendarz rozgrywek, to przynajmniej 2, a licząc z lipcem 4 kolejki regularnej ligi.
Po trzecie, nawet jeśli bylibyśmy na tyle nierozważni, żeby trwać w organizacji ligi, to nie mamy Was nawet gdzie ugościć i przeprowadzić rozgrywek. Obiekty MORiS Chorzów, które zarezerwowaliśmy na potrzeby organizacji ligi stosownymi umowami, zostały zamknięte do odwołania, a władze Chorzowa, podobnie jak wiele innych samorządów, odwołały wszystkie wydarzenia kulturalno – sportowe. Co więcej otrzymaliśmy rekomendację z chorzowskiego ratusza, by rozważyć organizację zawodów sportowych w okresie wrzesień - grudzień. Organizowanie Poligonu od września do grudnia nie jest brane pod uwagę, z uwagi na pogodę, krótszy dzień i prawdopodobny spadek jakości spowodowany ciasnym kalendarzem, a tego po prostu nie chcemy.
Po czwarte, odwoływane są duże, większe i największe imprezy sportowe, w tym w naszej dyscyplinie, która naraża uczestników na bezpośredni kontakt, a tym samym przenoszenie wirusa. Nie będziemy starać się być mądrzejsi, nie będziemy cwaniakować i żyć nadzieją, że jakoś będzie, a najwyżej później będziemy się martwić. Jesteśmy odpowiedzialni.
Co dalej?
Dziękujemy tym drużynom, które jeszcze w tym tygodniu nawet poczyniły akces do Ligi, wierząc w nasze siły i wierząc, że wszystko będzie dobrze. Ten sezon upłynie pod znakiem głodu gry. Dla nas również organizacji i tej superfajnej energii, którą nam przekazujecie i którą przerabiamy w dobro zwrotne.
Wszystkie przelane przez zgłoszone drużyny środki zwrócimy w pełnej wysokości, nie pobierając żadnych opłat, a straty finansowe bierzemy na siebie, bo jesteśmy odpowiedzialni.
W momencie, gdy sytuacja na świecie i w kraju zostanie względnie opanowana, spróbujemy zaskoczyć Was jakimś miłym akcentem, ale za wcześniej jest teraz na jakiekolwiek obietnice.
