Euro-Atlantic Dominion Maris Baltici Multidimensional Security Threats in the Baltic Sea Basin round table will take place in Gdańsk, New Town Hall, 1 December 2026.

The Baltic Sea region has become a central frontline of hybrid and conventional security challenges following Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. With Finland and Sweden joining NATO and regional cooperation intensifying, the need for coordinated, practical responses to both hard and soft security threats has never been greater.

To strengthen this cooperation, the College of Eastern Europe (KEW), together with partners from Gdańsk, the Union of the Baltic Cities, Lithuania, and Poland, is launching a Baltic round table on soft and hard security. The first edition will take place in Gdańsk.

The European Alliance of Cities and Regions for the Reconstruction of Ukraine play a vital role in strengthening cooperation between local and regional authorities across Europe.

During the recent working meeting of the Alliance on 10.07.26, the stakeholders were encouraged to engage in a constructive discussion on the upcoming opinion of the European Committee of the Regions “From Temporary Protection to Sustainable Solutions for Displaced Ukrainians in the EU – the Role of Cities and Regions.” and to fill in EU Survey by 20 July 2026.

The 766th St. Dominic’s Fair will take place from 25 July to 16 August 2026 in Gdańsk.

As part of the Fair, the Equality Festival will take place on 15–16 August at Heweliusz Square. Equality Festival is organized in cooperation with the UBC Inclusive and Healthy Cities Commission and this year’s theme focuses on the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

The City of Riga invites cities, urban development experts, policymakers, researchers, businesses, startups, and innovation professionals from across Europe to participate in the Smart Cities Conference 2026, which will take place on 17 September 2026 in Riga, Latvia.

Now in its fifth year, the conference has become an important platform for sharing experiences, discussing challenges, and exploring practical solutions that support smarter, more resilient, and sustainable cities. This year’s edition will have a Baltic–Nordic focus, bringing together participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, and other European countries.

The International Forum “From Crisis Response to Resilient Communities: Ukrainian Experience for European Municipalities” will take place in the Municipality of Ropaži, Latvia, on 29 July 2026.
