Great racing in Malcesine! This time POL41 wins, but ITA13 leads after six races.

The Sail-IQ system was recently tested during an A-Class clinic led by Tymek Bendyk, followed by several regatta days on Lake Garda. The conditions could hardly have been better—steady wind and favorable weather provided an ideal environment for both training and performance analysis.
A key objective of the testing was to evaluate Sail-IQ across multiple data sources. During the sessions, data was collected from a range of devices, including sport watches, as well as dedicated sailing instruments such as Vakaros, Sailmon, and Velocitek. This multi-source approach allowed for a comprehensive comparison and validation of the system.
Overall, Sail-IQ performed reliably and delivered meaningful, consistent insights. In particular, data from Vakaros and Velocitek devices showed strong alignment, reinforcing confidence in the system’s analytical outputs. Some inconsistencies were observed when using sport watches, where occasional glitches and low sampling frequency affected data collection.
One practical challenge emerged during training sessions: the use of free-floating buoys proved less compatible with the system, likely due to their movement affecting positional reference points. This highlighted an area for further refinement in dynamic training environments.
All collected data was successfully processed and shared with participants, enabling sailors to review and learn from their performance. The Garda testing confirmed that Sail-IQ is a robust and valuable tool for sailing analysis, with strong potential for continued development.
