Maja (.cz) spent six months on trail, covering more than 3,500 km through deserts, canyons, mountains, snowfields and the Pacific coast. 🏔️

In conditions like these, a rain jacket is not just a “just in case” layer. It becomes one of the most important pieces of protection, something that needs to work day after day, with a backpack on, in rain, wind, snow and constant moisture.

During her journey, Maja tested the Cumulus® Moonrain jacket in real long-distance hiking conditions. Alongside it, she also carried the Cumulus® Inverse down jacket and the X-Lite 300 sleeping bag, building a lightweight system for long days, cold nights and changing weather on trail.

In our new blog article, we look at what really matters when choosing a hardshell for a thru-hike, from ventilation and hood adjustment to pocket placement to durability and room for an insulation layer underneath. 🌧️

Read the full story on our blog and discover what 3,500 km on trail can teach you about choosing the right rain jacket.

Cerro Mercedario. Around 6770 m above sea level. The raw Andes, altitude, wind, cold, and a plan that from the very beginning sounded like a mix of sport, mountaineering, and pure determination. 🏔️🚴‍♀️

and set out with an ambitious goal: to ride from the summit of Cerro Mercedario and descend around 4500 vertical meters by mountain bike. They became the second team known to have ridden from this mountain, while Rea became the first woman to do so. As far as we know, it is also the highest MTB descent ever completed by a woman.

For Rea, the project also carried another important message: to show that the hardest outdoor challenges are a space for women too. 💪

This expedition was fully self-supported, with no porters or organized base camps. Every piece of gear and food had to be carried by the team, which made low weight, warmth, and reliability absolutely essential. That is why we are proud to have supported this project as a gear sponsor.

During the expedition, the team used Cumulus gear: Neolite Endurance, Transition Down Pants, Plancklite, Protection Boots, and Teneqa 700.

This is exactly why we make our equipment: for people who go beyond obvious trails, face altitude, cold, and their own limits, and inspire others to dream a little bigger. ✨

And this is not the end of the story. A documentary film from the expedition is on its way, with screenings planned at this year’s festivals before it becomes available on YouTube. We’ll definitely let you know when it’s time for the premiere. 🎬

Huge congratulations to Rea and Andraz for taking on this challenge and showing how much preparation, experience, and passion for the mountains can mean. 🙌

Some adventures are not about comfort- they are about moving fast and packing light. 🪶

Whether you are taking on a multi-day ultra race or chasing an FKT, a lightweight sleep system can significantly reduce both the weight and bulk of your pack, letting you stay focused on the trail ahead. ⛰️

The Vencer series sleeping bags were designed for performance-driven athletes who demand the lowest possible gear weight and maximum efficiency on the move. These ultralight, shortened sleeping bags provide insulation from the waist down, and when paired with a down jacket, help protect you from the cold after a long day of effort.

Your puffy jacket is already coming with you, so why not make the most of it at night as well? This smart approach helps you save valuable grams and pack space for the things that matter most, like extra snacks. 🍫😉
