Dear Pirates! Due to the numerous restrictions at Ft. Buchanan and the challenges with sports at the schools, it appears that hosting football teams on base will be a challenge for this upcoming season. Today, US Customs and Border Protection, Office of Chief Counsel awarded me with the CBP-OCC Community Service plaque. I want to share this recognition with all my coworkers and the volunteer coaches and parents from the military and federal enforcement agencies that have collaborated with us all these years to make the Pirates football program a complete success. This award is really for you. Thank you to everyone. Go Pirates!!

Dear P*e Wee Players, family and friends.

In light of the current coronavirus pandemic and the safety of our players and family, the Puerto Rico P*e Wee Football League is suspending all practices and games play until further notice. The League will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic. More information will be communicated as it becomes available. We appreciate your understanding on this matter.

The toughest challenge of being a coach on a federal military installation is seeing your players transfer to other locations! Yet, the rewarding part is that we know wherever they go they'll always carry those Pirates memories with them!! We will miss you Tino and the Pinto family! Equipment Distribution Day for our Pirates!! 5 minutes later..... 6.0 earthquake at the storage facility! Ran outside until it all subsided.... Then drove to Ft. Buchanan to hand it out! Fun Saturday!

Dear Parents. I have not heard back from anyone that can volunteer to monitor our players at the study hall. Thus, no study hall will be available tomorrow or Friday. Unless we get a volunteer.

Please note that based on my 10+ years in this program, without a study hall the football program will encounter challenges to keep sufficient players on the team and it could affect our ability to even field a team. So please, if you can monitor the kids Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 215pm to 4pm at the Elementary School, during January, February and March, it would mean a lot.

I can provide you with more info about the study hall. It is not complicated as the players must work on their assignments while in attendance (no socializing), the volunteer only monitors and coordinates their change in gear for practice. In the past, all the parents chip in money to get the kids a snack before practice.

I hope we get volunteers. It takes a village to raise a child.... and run a football program as well.
