A safety stop is usually done at around 15 feet for 3 minutes before ascending to the surface.

Why is it important?
While diving, our bodies absorb nitrogen because of the pressure. A safety stop helps release that nitrogen slowly and reduces the risk of decompression sickness. It also allows for a slower, more controlled ascent.

In diving, ascending slowly is just as important as descending. 💙🌊
