This is a reflection based on messages and conversations I’ve had with some of our friends-followers-fellow SUP enthusiasts. Many of them were shortboard surfers long before they ever tried SUP surfing.

Some have shared that after knee surgery, back surgery, or other physical challenges, they thought their years of surfing might be coming to an end. Then they decided to give SUP surfing a try, and for some, that decision has given them another 10 years or more in the water, catching waves and continuing to do something they truly love.

I think that’s something worth sharing. We may experience surfing in different ways and may not always understand each other at first, but in the end, we all share the same love for waves and the ocean. It’s great to hear that SUP surfing has helped some surfers stay in the water longer and continue finding happiness through surfing.

Just sharing what some of our friends have shared with me. Respect to everyone who finds their own way to keep surfing.
