If you are in the western coast of Puerto Rico or in Mayaguez I am available for private lessons in fitness training and martial arts training. Take advantage of this because eventually I'm going to change to fully online training only. Space is limited so DM me for more information. My rate is $35 per hour.
Total Fighting Self Defense
This is a local Mayaguez self defense website that has roots in various sources of martial arts styles. Realistic and functional self defense for men and women.
Also I cover fitness and weight loss.
Tip of the day. Read. The. Archives.
I have already posted plenty of free information here at your convenience that you can use to your advantage. The reason I don't post all the time is because I believe in quality over quantity. I only post when I got something interesting to say. I don't like repeating things too much if it's already been said before.
Eventually I will begin posting full articles in a blog on my website for more free fitness, weight loss, martial arts, and self defense education.
Quick rant for the night: Just because I am avoiding situations, walking away from would be fights, and de escalating situations does not automatically mean I can't fight. For one, I'm doing the right thing by walking away. As a self defense practitioner (not a street fighter, they're not the same. Apples and oranges) my goal is my safety so avoidance is priority number 1 and conflict resolutions is priority number 2. My goal is not to win a fight. Fighting is a last resort in cases where de escalation failed and walking away is not a option. If forced into fighting, your goal is not to win the fight. Your goal is to stun the bad guy then escape meaning run away. Anything else and enjoy spending time in prison after you "win" the fight. Til next time!!
If you're going to learn to fight under today's times then I suggest you build a MMA base with Muay Thai and BJJ as your foundation and then add on the self defense specific techniques such as the knife hand, the groin slap, low side kick to the knee, the eye jab, the ear smack and so forth to build a hybrid system for the fighting aspect of your self defense training.

The best book I ever read on de escalation and conflict resolutions.
A discussion on verbal de escalation and avoidance plus why it's so important:
I studied a lot of the physical stuff but in real life it was avoidance, reading situations "intuition" and verbal de escalation that got me out of most situations. Between my teenage years to up to age 30 "I turn forty this month". Things turned physical only 6 times. Verbal de escalation prevented over 90 percent of my conflicts and confrontations from turning physical. De Escalation is not being a "p***y", it's about not being stupid and putting your life in danger when the fight can be avoided.
From now on, I will not only discuss self defense but also fitness and weight management for health as I'm not only a Self Defense Trainer but I'm also a Certified Personal Trainer.

The RICE principle is a common approach to managing injuries, especially minor ones. RICE stands for:
1. Rest: Give the injured area time to heal by resting and avoiding further stress or strain.
2. Ice: Apply ice to the injured area to reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation. Use a cloth or towel to protect the skin and apply it for 15-20 minutes at a time.
3. Compression: Use a bandage or wrap to provide compression to the injured area, which can help reduce swelling and support the injured tissue.
4. Elevation: Elevate the injured area, if possible, above heart level to reduce swelling and promote drainage of excess fluids.
It's important to remember that the RICE principle is generally suitable for minor injuries like sprains, strains, and bruises. For more severe injuries or if you're unsure about the extent of the injury, it's advisable to seek medical attention.
New website under construction and a new name to my self defense company plus I will begin addressing fitness and weight loss topics as well. All of this coming soon so stay tuned for more. ;)
