bubblegum helps me concentrate. 😂 seems i picked up some new super powers while training my lower legs with hybrid exercises for wrestling and leg locks. knowing how to train for strong knees is a great way to staying young for longer.

been out for a while from a busted rib I got at jiu jitsu and i'm glad i got the clear from my chiropractor to begin mobility training. I hate being injured. when it happens, i have to exercise so much patience because I get restless. with time, you learn that the best medicine is rest and move mindfully until you can begin training again. i for one am excited to hit the mats 😁 🐉

hurricane survival tips: I am super stoked on these waterproof power banks from !! the flashlight attachment was especially useful after the power went out and the red Turtle Shell next to it kept mine and cellphones charged the time we spent in san juan during the storm. thank the tech gods.

the mind requires training every bit as much as the body. if we could not move our body in a particular way today, we can practice in our mind. this done in orchestra with our physical practice expands the minds ability to recall information when its needed most.

following a basic pulling and pressing programming will give you a muscle up.

what has been poorly understood about programming gymnastics in crossfit, in this case, is not taking the straight arm strength or false grip training that makes training muscle ups possible.

what I mean by training muscle ups is not doing 30 muscle ups in an hr or two....it's doing 25 muscle ups in the span of 5-10min rest included.

if you're working on conditioning, Coach Sommer wrote in Building the Gymnastic Body that his athletes reached 120 reps in a span of 15min during a conditioning session(not to mention the 20 pause jump squats after each muscle up round). interesting!

but for that, you'd need a qualified gymnastic strength trainer... hmmm... I wonder where you could find one in PR. 🙂

so, just how strong are your wrists? I need mine to be for not only handstands and rope climbing but for all the gripping in jiu jitsu and wrestling. here i'm demoing some variations you've seen me do before and a new one - finger hops.

it wasn't until I began playing around with freestanding handstand variations that my bad habits didn't become blatantly apparent to me. leaning too much on my left arm, not tucking the pelvis, not squeezing the abs, not looking for "up" with my toes. here i'm practicing moving my legs so i can feel where my hip is in space all the while keeping the shoulders open. doing this sheds light on just where to put my weight for balance and my focus for a desired adaptation. where should the focus be right now? strengthening the open shoulders position and lay siege to my hip flexors so i can make something of myself and get a press handstand. the forearm assisted handstand allows me to continue strengthening the shoulder position while I work out the individual kinks on the wall. can you tell which is my more flexible leg? 🙂🤸🏽‍♂️
