Day 2 | Combatives Summit

Got to spend some time learning from Sam Ferguson today Galo Combatives Group, working on pinning and controlling someone in a weapons-based environment, where you have to account for the possibility of weapons being involved.

I’m here with my boy Corey from Panther Combatives playing around with some of these law enforcement techniques, especially how to maintain control while keeping weapons in mind, and figuring out how we can bring those concepts into our Jiu-Jitsu.

Always fun getting on the mats with high level instructors, learning new things, and finding little details we can bring back to PRGA.

Kicked things off with Range Day in Mississippi before the Combatives Summit | Training officially begins.

It was a true honor to learn from ShivWorks Official IG and Tim Herron and the rest of these incredible instructors.

Rarely have I met such highly qualified professionals who carry themselves with so much humility. Watching them work and seeing how genuinely they shared their knowledge was truly inspiring.

A reminder that true professionals don’t need to prove how good they are. Their knowledge, actions, and humility speak for themselves. Much respect to these gentlemen.

Great training, great people, and some seriously tough competitors!

Yesterday, the PRGA crew headed to Central Puerto Rico for an awesome NoGi session with our friends at Touro Cayey BJJ 🥋 with Velociraptor Jiu Jitsu

A huge thank you to Angel, Big Country, and all their amazing students for the hospitality, tough rounds, and great energy on the mats.

To all the academies out there: Whether you’d like to visit us at PRGA or have our crew come train with yours, hit us up!
We’re always happy to share the mats, make new friends, and grow the Jiu-Jitsu community here in Puerto Rico.
