Arabic will follow: Springtime is a unique season in Palestine to visit and exposure its green beauty. Palestine is known for its wildflowers used for cooking, decoration, medication and other purposes. It is also known for rare kinds of wildflowers that symbolize purity and liberty, one of these flowers is Iris Haynei which is found in the North especially Jenin and its villages, it is a tender wildflower with beautiful purple color and special ornament. This flower has been at risk of extinction after the creation of the Apartheid Wall which affected its habitat. Iris Haynei has been adopted by Environment Quality Authority on 2016 as “the national plant of the state of Palestine” to go with the olive tree as the national tree and Palestine sunbird as the national bird.

We are excited to announce that the flourishing Iris Haynei has inspired us in Palestine Marathon 2020 with its vibrant color to paint our running shirt for this year, and promote this national plant as a royal Palestinian flower that symbolizes the heritage of our green nature. The shirt also promotes concepts of freedom and dignity through breaking down the alphabets of the word Palestine in English into: Peace, happiness, love, justice, dignity, identify, humanity and hope

We are waiting you all in Palestine Marathon on 27th March 2020 to promote the freedom of movement.

Ahlan wa sahlan to Falasteen

يعد فصل الربيع من اجمل الفصول التي تستقطبك لزياره فلسطين والتعرف على طبيعتها الخضراء و الجميله. و ينتشر في فلسطين العديد من الزهور البريه التي تستخدم في الطبخ ، التزيين ، العلاج وغيرها من الاستخدمات. و هناك انواع نادره من الزهور البريه التي ترمز للحريه والنقاء مثل زهره سوسنه فلسطين التي تنمو في شمال فلسطين خاصه في منطقه جنين وقراها . تعد هذه الزهره الناعمه ذات لون بنفسجي مميز وطابع خاص للتزيين. الا ان هذه الزهره مهدده بالانقراض خاصه بعد بناء جدار الفصل العنصري الذي يهدد موطن هذه الزهره وانتشارها. لقد تم اعتبار زهره سوسنه فلسطين من قبل سلطه جوده البيئه الفلسطينيه عام 2016 "الزهره الوطنيه لدوله فلسطين" الى جانب شجره الزيتون " الشجره الوطنيه" و عصفور الشمس " الطائر الوطني" .

نحن سعيدين ان نعلن ان زهره سوسنه فلسطين الهمتنا هذا العام في ماراثون فلسطين بلونها النابض بالحياه لتكون اللون الرسمي لقميص السباق ، و تتويجها كزهره فلسطينيه ملكيه ترمز لتراثنا من الطبيعه الخضراء. القميص يعزز كذلك مفاهيم الحريه والكرامه من خلال احرف كلمه فلسطين بالانجليزيه التي تشكل مفاهيم: السلام ، السعاده ، الحب، العداله، الكرامه، الهويه، الانسانيه والامل.

ننتظركم في ماراثون فلسطين في 27 آذار 2020 لتعزيز ودعم حريه الحركه والتنقل.

فاهلا وسهلا بكم في فلسطين

Article 1 of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights asserts that “all human beings are born free and equal and must enjoy equal rights”. One of these human rights is freedom of movement as stated in Article 13 (1) of the declaration “Everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each state”. Freedom of movement is a spiritual need of every human being to develop his/her character to the fullest extent through the liberty to move and travel from one location to another without imprisonment or restriction.

Palestine Marathon 2020 recognizes, promotes and preserves the right to free movement in and out of the country. It draws the awareness of international community towards the acknowledgment and respect of the basic right to free movement without fear or oppression. The Marathon is considered the platform of this right and the voice that echoes to step forward and develop huge awareness towards free movement to Palestinians who are facing lot of challenges to maintain their rights under occupation. Participants will run to value the free movement and experience the overwhelming restrictions on movements that Palestinians encounter everyday to go for business trips, family visit, educational or recreational purposes.

Palestine Marathon 2020 will blossom in its unique message in the spring of 2020 by gathering runners irrespective of their region, gender, nation, language or race to contribute to the concept of free of movement in Palestine. Palestine Marathon 2020 will be the stamp where every participant will promote Palestinians’ right to free movement and bring the attention of international community to the struggle of Palestinians in maintaining this challenging right under occupation.

This Marathon is our message to international community about the existence of Palestine and the fairness of our cause.
