Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga as exercise, incorporating principles of traditional Chinese medicine, with asanas (postures) that are held for longer periods of time than in other styles. A more meditative approach to yoga, its goals are awareness of inner silence, and bringing to light a universal, interconnecting quality.


Yin Yoga é um estilo de yoga de ritmo lento como exercício , incorporando princípios da medicina tradicional chinesa , com asanas (posturas) que são mantidas por mais tempo do que em outros estilos. Uma abordagem mais meditativa do yoga, seus objetivos são a consciência do silêncio interior e trazer à luz uma qualidade universal e interconectada.

Complementary to the Yang styles (Vinyasa for example) Yin Yoga does not have strictly speaking a destination in the beauty of the posture (the asana). It is thus perfectly adapted to the beginners who feel embarrassed to be at the sides of people already advanced.

In Yin Yoga, the important thing is the feeling, not the form defined by the body. A beginner can often feel much more than an experienced yogi. And this is why I like and have chosen this style. In a society where competition is de rigueur, this style goes against the teachings of modern society, competition no longer exists. Yin gives a feeling of equality to all yogis, whether they are beginners or advanced.
