Training in the heat....can you do it...should you do it?🤔
Well the answer is maybe🤷♀️! It all depends on you- everybody is different
💦have you acclimatised? It takes at least 14 days to fully acclimatise to heat
🥵 carry a camelpak with water filled with electrolytes
🌅carry salt tablets with you, remember that you must replace sodium losses in sweat!!
💦 wear a hat or visor
🥵stop in coffee shops to splash your face
🌅train early mornings or late nights
💦 wear light coloured clothes and avoid cotton materials
🌅 apply suncream at least 30mins before leaving the house and reapply frequently
🥵MANAGE EXPECTATIONS....heat has a huge effect on HR therefore you must SLOW DOWN, your pace in the heat must adapt to ensure you are training appropriately for the conditions
💜Most of all be sensible💜

Who else thinks it's a good idea to do a duathlon when its 50mph wind gusts?! It was a hairy ride 🌪😱
who is a Blox Fit coached athlete was his first multi sport race and completely SMASHED his 5km PB !! And came 6th on the Bike. Epic first outing!!
My race plan - see how the run goes (this time last week I couldnt walk as I'd rotated my pelvis and was in agony!). Hold on for dear life on the bike. Headwind extreme. No aerobars. Lowest gear and spin like crazy. Couldnt push hard on bike for fear of being blown off. 😱4th on bike.
All learning. Train hard. Race Easy.
Now where is Summer??🌞

Thanks for this email! 😁👊
Very pleased to achieve Bronze All World Athlete status (top 10%) based on my 2021 race results, I'm suprised because my Ironman races last year were below par for me due to illness and race conditions.
The previous year I reached Silver AWA and I honestly thought I'd have lost my status completely but here I am, top 10% happy with that!
AWA status is a recognition of an athlestes performance compared to other athletes in the same race. Bronze athletes are the equivalent of the top 10% in that age group, silver the top 5% and gold the top 1% 🤩🤩🤩🤩
