O Azores Triangle Adventure é uma viagem em formato de prova de Trail running pelas 3 ilhas que compõe o "triângulo Açoreano" - Pico, São Jorge e Faial. O evento contará com três etapas, em três dias, e percorrerá os trilhos das paisagens mais emblemáticas do Pico, São Jorge e Faial
➩ PICO - A primeira etapa, “trail da vinha à montanha”, decorrerá na ilha do Pico e transporta-nos numa viagem de cerca de 27Km, desde o nível do mar até ao ponto mais alto de Portugal, a Montanha do Pico, com 2351m de altitude. O trilho tem o seu início no Lajido da Criação Velha, o coração da Paisagem da Cultura da Vinha da Ilha do Pico, classificada, em 2004, como Património da Humanidade pela UNESCO.
➩ São Jorge – O “o trail das fajãs”, decorre a ilha de São Jorge, permitindo o contacto direto com as Fajãs, elementos que dão a singularidade e particularidade à orla costeira de São Jorge, caracterizando-se por serem pequenos retalhos de terra plana encaixados entre as montanhas e o mar, que resultam do desabamento da encosta ou por arrefecimento de lava proveniente de uma erupção. Com cerca de 27 Km, esta etapa inicia-se no complexo vulcânico do Topo, o mais antigo da ilha, local onde o cultivo da vinha em currais é abundante, percorrendo, de seguida, algumas fajãs da costa sul, onde se cultiva o inhame, a banana e o café.
➩ Faial - A última etapa decorre na ilha do Faial, indo da costa Este à costa Oeste, com uma extensão aproximada de 34 km. Começa e termina no território mais recente da ilha e do País, o Vulcão dos Capelinhos, integrado no complexo vulcânico do Capelo, resultante da erupção de 1957/58. Pelo meio, passa pela formação intermédia da ilha, o complexo vulcânico dos Cedros, do qual faz parte o principal vulcão da ilha e ponto mais alto do Faial, a Caldeira, voltando pelo Trilho dos 10 Vulcões até ao Vulcão dos Capelinhos. Este projeto é de extrema importância para a Região Autónoma dos Açores, assumindo assim um posicionamento de referência no que ao turismo ativo e turismo de natureza diz respeito. Este evento foi pensado para ter o menor impacto possível no meio ambiente, como aliás acontece com todos os eventos do Azores Trail Run.

The Azores Triangle Adventure is a trail running trip through the 3 islands that make up the "Azorean triangle" - Pico, São Jorge and Faial. The event will have three stages, over three days, and will cover the trails of the most emblematic landscapes of Pico, São Jorge and Faial.
➩ PICO - The first stage, “trail from the vineyard to the mountain”, will take place on the island of Pico and takes us on a journey of about 27Km, from sea level to the highest point in Portugal, the Pico Mountain, with 2351m of altitude. The trail begins at Lajido da Criação Velha, the heart of the Pico Island Vineyard Culture Landscape, classified in 2004 as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
➩ São Jorge – The “fajãs trail”, takes place on the island of São Jorge, allowing direct contact with the Fajãs, elements that give the uniqueness and particularity to the coast of São Jorge, characterized by being small patches of flat land that lie between the mountains and the sea, resulting from the collapse of the slope or the cooling of lava from an eruption. With about 27 km, this stage begins in the volcanic complex of Topo, the oldest on the island, where the cultivation of vines in corrals is abundant, then going through some fajãs on the south coast, where yams, bananas and coffee are grown.
➩ Faial - The last stage takes place on the island of Faial, going from the east to the west coast, with an approximate length of 34 km. It begins and ends in the most recent territory of the island and the country, the Capelinhos Volcano, part of the Capelo volcanic complex, resulting from the 1957/58 eruption. In between, it passes through the intermediate formation of the island, the volcanic complex of Cedros, of which the main volcano on the island and the highest point of Faial, the Caldeira, is part, returning through the Trail of the 10 Volcanoes to the Capelinhos Volcano. This project is extremely important for the Autonomous Region of the Azores, thus assuming a position of reference in terms of active tourism and nature tourism. This event was designed to have the least possible impact on the environment, as is the case with all Azores Trail Run events.
