I’ve taught exercises for 30 years. And I had spinal surgery myself.
Most people don’t know this about me.
For nearly 20 years, I lived with chronic back pain. Tried everything - physio, massage, painkillers, rest. Things would get better for a while. Then they wouldn’t. I kept teaching, kept moving, kept telling myself it was manageable.
Then came the diagnosis. Tethered Cord Syndrome - a rare condition where the spinal cord is abnormally attached and can’t move freely. By the time we found it, there was no other option.
Surgery. Then three years of recovery.
During those three years, movement was the thing that kept me together. Not just physically. On the worst days, having a practice I trusted meant I was still doing something — still working my way back, not just waiting. That distinction matters more than I can explain.
I’m not sharing this to make what I do sound more significant. I’m sharing it because I know what it’s like to be scared to move. To be exhausted from managing pain that nobody around you can see. To feel like your own body has become the problem.
I know that place. Not from a textbook. From living there.
What I teach now isn’t something I found in a course. It’s something I had to rebuild from - and spent 30 years refining with hundreds of people who came to me carrying the same things I once carried.

Your back felt amazing after back massage. For maybe three days.
Then it came back. Same spot. You know the one.
Massage does real things - loosens the spasm, gets blood moving, calms the whole system down. I’m not against it. But it can’t touch the reason the spasm kept coming back in the first place.
That reason is almost always the same: the deep stabilizing muscles along your spine aren’t doing their job. So the larger surface muscles pick up the slack. They overwork, they tighten, they hurt. You get a massage. They relax. Three days later, they’re back at it - because nothing underneath changed.
The only way out is teaching those deeper muscles to actually work. Not stretching. Not rest. Activation - in the right sequence, consistently enough that it sticks.
That’s what I built the 8-Week Lower Back Rehab around. Not a “feel better today” routine. A progression that changes how your body holds itself - so you’re not back on that table every two weeks, wondering why nothing lasts.

Exercise as the Most Potent Longevity Tool:
Decades of studies confirm that regular physical activity is the single most powerful lifestyle intervention for extending both lifespan and healthspan. For example, research published in The Lancet (2012) found that even 15 minutes of daily moderate exercise reduced all-cause mortality by 14%. Exercise protects cardiovascular health, improves insulin sensitivity, reduces inflammation, and maintains brain function by increasing blood flow and neuroplasticity (Harvard Medical School, 2020). Importantly, exercise quality matters: improper or excessive training can cause joint damage, hormonal imbalances, or cardiovascular strain—meaning exercise must be personalized and progressive to maximize benefit and minimize harm.
