Sisters testing reactive core stability! ⚽🛡️
Non-contact knee, hip, and ankle injuries don’t happen in controllable environments. They happen when you less expect, for example, when you lose your balance, need to react suddenly to someone’s/ball’s movement, or slip on the pitch.
The Reactive Drop Plank mimics those exact match-day sudden moments. When your body must react suddenly, you are exposed to injuries and core strength is vital to minimize them. In those situations, your trunk and core have to instantaneously brace, resist rotation, and stabilize your entire body so you can move safely.
How to execute:
1. Hold a high-plank with a neutral spine.
2. Partner lifts both legs from the ankles.
3. Partner randomly releases ONE leg. Your job is to fight the sudden shift and hold the plank dead steady.
Train your body to react under unpredictable situations in training to prepare you for match-days!
