Four years ago, I packed up my life in the UK and moved to Portugal. 🇵🇹

Did I know how it was going to work out? Absolutely not!

But four years on, I can safely say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

It’s been full of incredible people, new experiences, challenges and plenty of lessons along the way.

If it’s taught me anything, it’s that you don’t need to have everything figured out before taking the next step.

Sometimes, you’ve just got to trust yourself and see where life takes you! ❤️

I was coaching a young person recently, and we got talking about confidence.

One thing I’ve learned is that confidence comes from keeping the promises you make to yourself.

Every commitment is a promise from your past self to your present self, shaping your future self.

The more you follow through, the more you learn to trust yourself.

Imagine if we helped more young people understand that confidence is something they can build, one action at a time.

My biggest takeaway? Listening, asking better questions and learning from each other help us build stronger school communities.

Better conversations. Stronger connections. Stronger school culture.

Bora Training has landed at the International School of Paris — our first school partnership in France! 🇫🇷

This group brought laughter, honesty and real depth to our first session.

It’s about more than coach training: it’s how we support each other, support our students and help people feel heard.

We’ll work together throughout the year, building coaching skills and putting them into practice towards accreditation.

Who looks after the people who spend their lives looking after everyone else

Teachers and school leaders give so much to others, but how often do they create that same space for themselves?

For Amy, coaching was about finding her voice, setting boundaries and recognising that her own growth matters too.

Because educators deserve more than just professional development. They deserve space to be heard, supported and to grow.

Teaching taught me three things about people:

1. People want to be seen.

2. People want to be heard.

3. People want to feel like they matter.

After years of teaching, coaching and working with people across different countries and cultures, I keep coming back to the same thing: connection changes everything.

Whether it’s in a classroom, a staffroom or a leadership team, people thrive when they feel genuinely valued.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply slow down and really see the person in front of us.
