Back to Nazaré… where the ocean remembers and the heart finds its way home.

The energy was something you don’t explain—you feel it. In every embrace, every glance, every wave rolling through the lineup. Old friends, local souls, the surf community… all speaking the same language: love, respect, belonging.

Six years carved by storms—physical, mental, silent battles beneath the surface. And yet, here I stand again, carried by something deeper than strength… something like purpose.

Grateful to every soul who held me up when the tide was heavy, who kept the fire alive when it flickered low. This isn’t just a return—it’s a rebirth.

And to my brother —your presence, your heart, your unwavering support made this moment possible. More than logistics… this was love in motion.

The ocean called… and I answered 🌊

O lendário ativista dos mares defende os oceanos há décadas e agora precisa que o defendamos!

No domingo, 21 de julho, o capitão Paul Watson – fundador do SeaShepherd e cofundador do Greenpeace – foi preso na Groenlândia pelas autoridades dinamarquesas com base num mandato internacional emitido pelo Japão. Ele enfrenta um mandato de prisão por se opor à caça ilegal de baleias na Antártica. Se for extraditado para o Japão, ele poderá receber uma sentença de 15 anos de prisão!

As ações do Capitão Paul sempre foram no interesse de defender as leis internacionais e garantir a saúde dos oceanos. Apesar de fazer o trabalho dos governos, ele está a ser tratado como um criminoso internacional, por defender a vida marinha e o ecossistema do qual todos dependemos para sobreviver.⁠ As pessoas que defendem nosso sistema de suporte à vida deveriam ser celebradas, não presas!

O livro, baseado nesta onda e dia míticos, conta o que nos levou àquele momento e descreve o dia mais desafiante e gigante surfado na Nazaré: 17 Janeiro 2018.
Dia em que a resiliência, coragem e a irmandade prevaleceram frente às condições mais extremas de sempre.

🇬🇧Super happy with the launch of the book I co-authored with the great writer and journalist : “Big Mama” : the mother of all waves.
The book, only in Italian for now, is based on this mythical wave and day, recounting what lead us to that moment.
It describes in detail the most challenging day surfed in Nazaré: January 17, 2018.
A day when resilience, courage and brotherhood prevailed despite the most extreme conditions ever.
Grateful to all those who were part of my life, part of Nazare, specially on this day.
