On Friday, 🔱 had the honour to welcome a delegation from the U.S. House of Representatives 🇺🇸. Our esteemed guests were welcomed by our Deputy Commander, Rear Adm. Craig Wood CBE 🇬🇧, Deputy Chief of Staff Operations, Rear Adm. Eduardo Guitián Crespo 🇪🇸, Deputy Chief of Staff Support, Capt. Clemente Gil 🇵🇹, and our U.S. Senior National Representative, Capt. Andrew Liggett 🇺🇸.

During their visit, the delegation engaged with members of the U.S. contingent 🇺🇸 stationed at our headquarters and received a briefing on our mission to deliver high-end maritime strike and defence capabilities to ensure the security of the 1 billion citizens of the Alliance.

This visit underscores the unwavering commitment of 🇺🇸 to NATO and highlights the enduring strength of transatlantic cooperation.

Looking back on an inspiring visit from the Finnish Coastal Association 🇫🇮 to 🔱 last month.

The exchange offered a valuable opportunity to share perspectives on maritime security and the integration of amphibious operations into NATO, and to highlight STRIKFORNATO’s role in delivering high-end maritime strike and defence capabilities to the Alliance.

On Wednesday, the Commander of the Spanish Joint Operations Command, Lt. Gen. José Antonio Agüero Martínez 🇪🇸 was welcomed to 🔱 headquarters by our Deputy Commander, Rear Adm. Craig Wood CBE 🇬🇧, Deputy Chief of Staff Operations, Rear Adm. Eduardo Guitián Crespo 🇪🇸, Deputy Chief of Staff Support, Capt. Clemente Gil 🇵🇹, and Spanish Senior National Representative, Capt. Rafael Ponce 🇪🇸.

During his visit, Lt. Gen. Agüero Martínez met with our extraordinary Spanish contingent and was briefed on our mission to deliver high-end maritime strike and defence capabilities to ensure the security of the 1 billion citizens of the NATO Alliance.

Spain 🇪🇸 remains a vital Ally to maintain the deterrence capabilities of the Alliance and ensure the security of all 32 member nations.

On Tuesday, our 🔱 interns visited the Atlantic Centre in Lisbon, Portugal 🇵🇹.

During their visit, our interns were briefed by Lt. Francisco de Arantes e Oliveira 🇵🇹 on the activities of this multilateral Centre of Excellence to promote defence capacity-building for the Atlantic.

Last week, the Turkish Air Force Commander, Gen. Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu 🇹🇷, accompanied by the Ambassador of Türkiye to Portugal, His Excellency Haldun Koç 🇹🇷, was welcomed to the 🔱 headquarters by our Commander, Vice Adm. J.T. Anderson 🇺🇸, Deputy Commander, Rear Adm. Craig Wood CBE 🇬🇧, Deputy Chief of Staff Operations, Rear Adm. Eduardo Guitián Crespo 🇪🇸, Deputy Chief of Staff Support, Capt. Clemente Gil 🇵🇹, and Turkish Senior National Representative, Capt. Yusuf Kapluhan 🇹🇷.

Gen. Kadıoğlu and Ambassador Koç received a tour of our Joint Operations Centre, met with our extraordinary Turkish personnel, and received a brief on our mission to deliver high-end maritime strike and defence capabilities to the NATO Alliance.

The Turkish Air Force is recognised by NATO as a critical contributor to the Alliance’s air power and overall capability to deter our adversaries and defend the 1 billion citizens of our Alliance!

Today, 🔱 commemorates the signing of the Norwegian Constitution at Eidsvoll 🇳🇴 on 17 May 1814, celebrating Norway’s declaration of independence.

Norway 🇳🇴 remains an important strategic partner within the Alliance as one of the vital pillars of Arctic security, providing elite defence capabilities, and a steadfast commitment to collective security. 🫡

Last week, 🔱 hosted senior military officers from the Portuguese Instituto Universitário Militar (IUM) 🇵🇹 Flag Officer Course, which prepares them for their responsibilities as future Admirals and Generals.

The officers were received by our Deputy Commander, Rear Adm. Craig Wood CBE 🇬🇧, Deputy Chief of Staff Operations, Rear Adm. Eduardo Guitián Crespo 🇪🇸 and Deputy Chief of Staff Support, Capt. Clemente Gil 🇵🇹.

During their visit, they were briefed on our mission to deliver high-end maritime strike and defence capabilities to ensure the security of the 1 billion citizens of the NATO Alliance.

The IUM is dedicated to academic, scientific, and strategic training in defence and security, and delivers continuous training and education to the Portuguese Armed Forces 🇵🇹 as well as foreign military officers.

On this day in 1386, the Treaty of Windsor established the world’s oldest diplomatic alliance between 🇵🇹 🤝 🇬🇧.

This day is a reminder that unity built on trust can stand firm through centuries, shaping partnerships that endure challenges, evolve with time, and continue to strengthen our collective defence.

Portugal 🇵🇹, the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 and all NATO Allies continue to uphold the principles of unity and collective defence to ensure the security of the 1 billion citizens of the NATO Alliance.
