Portugal´s first RYA-recognized sailing school and training centre based in Oeiras Marina near Lisbon.

On 26 September, we’ll once again be hosting the RYA Diesel Engine course, with instructor Simon Cater.

It will be a full 8-hour day dedicated to understanding, maintaining and troubleshooting marine diesel engines. 🔧⛵️

During the course, we’ll cover topics including:

⚙️ The four-stroke cycle
⛽ Fuel systems
💧 Cooling and air systems
🔌 Engine electrical systems
🛠️ Spare parts and essential equipment
❄️ Winterisation and maintenance

There will also be a hands-on practical session using a fully operational Volvo Penta D-75 marine diesel engine, giving participants the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice.

No previous experience or training is required, and the course includes the RYA Diesel Engine Course Notes.

This course includes a pool session with part conducted in the classroom and part in the pool. I Plenty of practical exercises with a real life raft and lifejackets !
