𝑩𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒂 • 👶

Balasana is composed of two Sanskrit words “bala” which means child, and “asana,” pose.
This restorative pose that resembles a child sleeping, can offer us a deep sense of well-being, harmony, comfort and relaxation, especially if we are going through a difficult time.
One of my favorite poses because, despite its simplicity, the psycho-physical benefits you can achieve are numerous! It relieves stress, reduces anxiety, improves breathing, soothes sciatica pain, promotes sleep, reduces insomnia, makes the back more flexible, strengthens hips, legs and knees, improves your posture, activates the Heart Chakra… and there are more!

PNF stretching: Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation. 😲
Most commonly known as a 'contract - relax muscles' method.
When this stretching technique is performed consistently and POST exercise, it increases athletic performance, along with range of motion and flexibility!
Next class will be based on PNF stretching. Don't miss it out;)

𝑼𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒂 • 🐪

"Ustra" in Sanskrit means camel, and "asana" posture. The name refers to the curved image of the camel. A posture of deep backward extension that requires flexibility, strength, and equanimity of mind to move with care and respect for the body and mind’s limitations.
The Camel posture, besides having numerous benefits for the body, mainly by working the shoulders, the entire spine, the hips, and the thighs, also has emotional benefits.
It is one of the yoga postures to open the heart chakra, the body's fourth energy center, associated with unconditional love and compassion.
The element of this chakra is air, which represents lightness, freedom, and freshness. When balanced, it allows you to feel compassion, generosity, respect, and connection with others. The Heart Chakra is the gateway to allow love to enter in our lives. 💚
