2026.04.26 - Europe half marathon (Aveiro)

Still with heavy legs from the adventure on the 21st, a last-minute registration took me to Aveiro for another 21 km.

Even though I could have gone for the marathon, I decided to stick to the half—it's important to have some sense and recover properly before taking on another challenge.

It showed that consistent training pays off: I managed to set a solid pace from the start and finish with a good time, and I even had the chance to help Angela in the final kilometers of the race.

2026.03.15 - Father's day race.

In the middle of my Sunday long run, I manage to find a slot and fit the father's day race into the mix.

And help José Alves get back in shape.

In the end on the race, there was still time for a photo with the Mimosa team, before resimung the rest of the long run. (Jorge Rodrigues Ana Coelho Sandra Coelho)

2026.01.01 - happy new year

The idea was to do the Cursa dels Nassos at the end of the day on the 31st, but we opted to do our personalized São Silvestre race on the morning of the 31st and a recovery run on the first day of the new year, with the added bonus of checking the water temperature in the Mediterranean.

2025.12.28 - São Silvestre do Porto

With my legs tired from the previous day's 90km bike ride, I returned to the São Silvestre race in Porto.

Despite the course not being flat or easy, I managed once again to secure a spot in the sub-elite group for the 2026 São Silvestre race.

2025.12.07 - Gerês Extreme Marathon

Back to the 42 km of the Gerês Extreme Marathon, chasing redemption after last year.

The goal was simple: run the entire race — no stops, no walking.

The brutal 7 km climb to Pedra Bela forced me to be patient. Heavy legs, rain, slippery roads… everything pointed to a conservative start. I saved my legs, trusted the plan, and kept moving forward.

Once on the Geira Romana, past most of the climbing and through the section where I broke last year, everything felt right. Legs good. Energy steady. Focused.

Nutrition on point. Ate and drank as planned, even in the cold and rain. Passed every food supply station without stopping.

Final descent into Gerês village — fast, strong, controlled, and confident.

✅ Goal achieved
⏱️ Course PB by a few minutes (3h38)
🏃‍♂️ No stops, no walking
🥇 5th in age group (1’30 from 2nd) 34 overall

Finished with energy to spare, which tells me there’s more to come. Next year? Back to Gerês, chasing the 3h30 mark.

Left the most beautiful marathon in the world satisfied.
See you next year, Gerês. 🌲🏔️

2025.11.02 - Porto Marathon ()

Another marathon for my personal count, this time in a controled effort.

I intended to minimize the effects that a marathon causes so as not to spoil my end-of-season goal in a month.

In fact, the intention was really to test my body to run in a situation of some fatigue.

A week after the uphill training in Serra do Marão, my body was still feeling its effects. And shortly after the start of the race, the climbs began to make themselves felt.

Despite going in training mode, it's always 42,195m and you need to respect the distance in all situations.

I managed to maintain a constant pace for 37km, a little above the planned pace, which was to go with the 3h30 pace, but my legs wanted to go faster.

At km 37 I increased the pace slightly, which I maintained until crossing the finish line.

I always had good feelings.

Bring on Gerês in a little over a month.
