First Alta Sintra Families' Hike
A Sunday Sintra hike
walking in the forest
all cells slow down
the rhythm of the trees, birds
the intricate balance
of soul, mind, body and heart
all cells find harmony and calm
walking around, being around
the whole being slows down
away from noises around
walking in the forest
the forest just breathes
all cells back life
the magic simplicity
of being alive
can be felt, touched
heard, seen all around
noticing trees, the grass
all breathing life
lights painting paths
it is like a church beyond religions
yet like a playground
seeing a pond
a stream, a building
or a cave
a stone is the best slide
better
it’s wonderfully wide
how easy it is really
to sense
aliveness around
returning then to
more complex tasks
day-to-day lives
is given a space
and can be embraced
by this equilibrium
of internal calm
where the grace
of some simple time
being with trees
creates a beautiful trace
of time spent
with trees
and the human unfolding
is revived
so we can return
and give our best
for this beautiful planet
to survive
with our whole being
our souls, minds and hearts
This is why we started filming
and photographing walking paths
here in Sintra and around Portugal
the natural landscape
the built architecture
with its intricate details,
embracing and enhancing each other,
in all villages, all countryside around
the way castles sit among mossy rocks,
where you can stumble upon little rivers,
or fountains among trees,
noone can see these from busy buses or cars
and it was nice to take the symbol of
filming paths - mitu or mito in Portuguese
on the paths
just like in Hungary, enis was with us
looking for tales and paths
we would like to inspire
how simply amazing it is
to discover places
by walking and being
with the calm
of wonders around
in this country of
great buildings, beautiful landscapes
around
after a tiring week
it was absolutely wonderful
to share time with you all
walking and photographing
a simple Sunday hike
the harmony of colors,
the shapes,
the castles,
the flowers, the trees
and the grass – all was out,
but we all carried some home inside
how many coincidences shaped these photographs
and how nice to be able to give back to its welcome,
care, its natural and built heritage through our care -
thank you for all, Portugal!
We are more than dedicated to create these steps here in Portugal -- bringing our best skills to create and film simple events where people can experience forests as a place of simple and carefree togetherness, finding and showing in films more and more hiking paths – and to help protect the wonderfully rich cultural and natural heritage of our chosen second home, Portugal, and contribute to a safe and sustainable future on all levels possible
