We zijn er al even geleden aan begonnen. Aan het toevoegen van de wandelroutes in het Monchique gebergte bedoel ik dan. Dit fantastische gebied herbergt een enorm scala aan ongelofelijke natuurschatten.

Je moet er wel een beetje uithoudingsvermogen hebben, want wie naar beneden loopt ....moet ook weer omhoog! Dat hebben we zelf hijgend ervaren toen we twee weken geleden de nieuwe hangbrug nabij Alferce met een bezoek vereerden.

It's raining in the Algarve. We have, very un-Portuguese, already had several days with incessant sloshing showers. This is quite annoying for us because we are used to our lovely sunshine. But for nature it is fantastic. So when a hole fell in the grey cloud cover yesterday, we immediately put on our hiking shoes and headed for the paths. The trek took us to Monchique where we checked out (and walked on) the new suspension bridge over the ravine at Alferce, after which we added walking route PR9. We had to abort that one halfway through because the rivers are so full of fast flowing water that we couldn't cross. And yet we enjoyed it immensely!
