The U18 Beach Volleyball Championships is underway in Honiara, Solomon Islands ๐ธ๐ง from April 6-9, 2025! This landmark event is a collaboration between the Oceania Zonal Volleyball Association (OZVA), FIVB, and Olympic Solidarity through the Youth Athlete Development Programme.
Young athletes from 13 nations will showcase their talents with 12 men's and 7 women's teams competing, including:

Palau Olympians and Athletes Commission (POAC) Vice President Anthony Rudimch and Executive Member Sydney Francisco, OLY are representing Palau at the 6th Continental Athletes' Forum, currently taking place in Fiji. They have joined athletes from across Oceania to discuss key issues impacting athletes' welfare, leadership, and safeguarding.
Hosted by the Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC) Athletes' Commission in partnership with Athlete365, the forum aims to empower athletes to play an active role in shaping the future of sport in the region. Through discussions, workshops, and collaborations, the forum will provide insights and resources for athletes to lead and advocate for their peers across Oceania.

Oct 18th 2024 - The Palau National Olympic Committee with the Organizing Committee of the Pacific Mini Games Palau 2025 proudly announces the appointment of Uchel Tmetuchl, President of Palau Athletics, as the Chairman for the Sports Committee overseeing the 12 Sports programs in the Pacific Mini Games 2025.
As Chairman, Mr. Tmetuchl will collaborate closely with the Sports Tournament Directors to ensure that all competitions meet the standards of sports respective international federations rules and regulations, and serve the best interests of the athletes participating in the Games. His role is crucial in guiding the National Sports Federations to prepare for a successful event, ensuring that the sport also aligns with the requirements set by the Pacific Games Council.
The Pacific Mini Games Palau 2025 will feature 12 sports, including Athletics, Archery, Baseball and Softball, Basketball 3X3, Judo, Swimming, Table Tennis, Triathlon, Indoor and Beach Volleyball, Va'a (Canoe), Weightlifting, and Wrestling. With his extensive background in athletics and sports leadership, Chairman Tmetuchl is well equipped to oversee the preparation and delivery of these competitions for the benefit of athletes and the broader sports community.

Oct 18, 2024 - The Palau National Olympic Committee (Palau NOC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Hila Asanuma, President of the Volleyball Federation of Palau and a Director of the Palau NOC Executive Board to the Pacific Games Council Technical & Human Resources Committee for the 2024-2028 term. This appointment reflects Ms. Asanuma's extensive experience and commitment to the development of sports in Palau and across the Pacific region.
As an executive member of the Palau NOC Board of Directors, Ms. Asanuma has been a key figure in promoting and supporting the growth of volleyball and other sports throughout the nation. Her role will involve collaborating closely with the Pacific Games Council to support and guide sports programs across the Pacific region, particularly in Palau as we prepare to host the 2025 Pacific Mini Games next year. Ms. Asanuma brings a wealth of professional expertise in law, combined with her leadership in sports administration, will greatly benefit the Pacific Games Council by enhancing the role of governance, structure, and support of sports programs across the Pacific region.
Ms. Asanuma's appointment marks an important step in strengthening Palau's presence in regional sports organizations and Palau sports development.

Koror, Palau โ The Palau National Olympic Committee (NOC) with support of the 2025 Pacific Mini Games, hosted the first Team Palau gathering on October 15th at the Palau National Gymnasium, marking the beginning of preparations for the Pacific Mini Games Palau 2025.
The event attracted over 150 athletes from various sports disciplines, all eager to represent Palau at the upcoming games. The sports in the programs for the games are Athletics, Archery, Judo, Basketball 3x3, Beach & Indoor Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, Table Tennis, Swimming, Triathlon, Va'a (Canoe), Weightlifting and Wrestling.
The gathering of Athletes opened with a welcoming address by Frank Kyota, President of the Palau NOC, who expressed his enthusiasm and support for the athletes. He emphasized the importance of unity and commitment as Team Palau prepares to compete on home soil in the Pacific Mini Games 2025. A special message was delivered by Dr. Patrick Tellei, Chairman of the Pacific Mini Games Palau 2025 Organizing Committee, who encouraged the athletes to embrace this opportunity to showcase their talent and bring pride to Palau. Dr. Tellei highlighted the significance of the games for the local community and the Pacific region.
Secretary General Baklai Temengil presented the sports programs for the Palau 2025 games, outlining the training schedules, goals, and expectations for Team Palau athletes. She emphasized the importance of dedication, hard work, and most importantly, commitment.
The Team Palau sign-up event marks a significant step forward in building a strong and competitive national team for the Pacific Mini Games 2025, set to take place from June 29th to July 9th, 2025. The Palau NOC with the 2025 Pacific Mini Games Organizing Committee, and Team Palau 2025, extends its gratitude to all participants and looks forward to seeing Team Palau excel on the regional stage.

๐พ๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐๐ข - ๐๐๐ก๐๐๐๐ 3, 2024 โ Members of the Pacific Games Council have visited various sports venues across Palau as part of the countryโs preparations to host the Pacific Mini Games from June 29 to July 9, 2025. The delegates are in Palau for the Pacific Games General Assembly, taking place this week.
The General Assembly agenda includes updates on Palauโs hosting of the 2025 Pacific Mini Games, the 2027 Pacific Games in Tahiti, as well as discussions on bids and the selection of future games. An election for the Pacific Games Councilโs executive board members is also part of this weekโs proceedings.
Council members have been in Palau for a week, with many of them joining in the nationโs Independence Day celebrations. The meetings are scheduled to conclude by the end of the week, with most of the members departing on Friday and Saturday.
