Zafran Cricket Club has set its standards remarkably high after qualifying for the prestigious QCA T10 Tournament. The competition features the best 16 teams in Qatar, all of whom earn their place through the highly competitive QCA T20 Tournament, where over 54 teams battle for a coveted spot.

By securing qualification, Zafran Cricket Club became the first Kashmiri team to reach this elite tournament, creating history and inspiring many other brotherly Kashmiri teams across Qatar to dream bigger and compete at the highest level.

Playing at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium was a new and exciting experience for the entire squad. After gaining valuable experience in the first two matches, Zafran entered the third game with a better understanding of the conditions, including the pitch, dew, and movement under lights.

Zafran won the toss and elected to bat first. Junaid led the charge with a superb 72 off just 36 balls, helping Zafran post a competitive 113/5 in 10 overs.

The bowlers backed up the batting effort with disciplined performances, taking wickets at regular intervals and restricting the opposition to 78/7 to seal a comfortable 35-run victory. Junaid was deservedly named Player of the Match for his match-winning innings.

A special appreciation goes to Captain Azhar Hussain for staying true to the club's values. Rather than searching for outside talent whenever tournaments arrive, he continues to back the same group of players who have represented the club throughout the season.

This philosophy ensures that loyal and regular players are never left behind for short-term success. It is not just a strategy - it is part of Zafran's DNA.

Whether it is a QCA tournament, the Kashmir Cup, or even a friendly match, Zafran Cricket Club proudly fields the same core squad. That commitment to loyalty, respect, dignity, and brotherhood is what truly makes the club special. More than a team, Zafran is a family, proving that success built on trust and unity is the most meaningful success of all.

🎖️ Leadership. Grit. Performance.
Celebrating the inspiring season of our Captain, Azhar Hussain, whose commitment and versatility have been the heartbeat of our team throughout 2024/2025!

Across 14 matches, Azhar proved to be a true leader on and off the field. With the bat, he scored 208 runs at a strike rate of 108.3, including a crucial fifty and three 20+ scores. Importantly, he consistently stepped up the order only in moments of collapse and urgency—when the team needed stability and someone to guide us through the full 20 overs. His highest score of 54 came in such a moment of pressure, and his average of 26.0 highlights the value of his composed, situation-driven innings.

🎯 With the Ball:
Our main bowler, Azhar shouldered the responsibility in every match—bowling 75 overs, picking up 17 wickets, and delivering breakthroughs when the team needed them most.

Armed with deceptive inswingers and outswingers, he constantly keeps batters guessing—unsure of which way the ball will move next. His intelligent variations and sharp control create pressure, forcing mistakes and breaking partnerships. Even in high-pressure moments, he held a tight economy of 7.7, balancing attack with control.

🧠 Captain. Mentor. Loyal Leader.
Throughout his reign, Azhar has stayed true to his core squad—never chasing short-term match-winners from outside, but instead believing in and backing his own players, always striving to bring out the best in them. His trust, patience, and commitment to growth have created a strong team culture built on unity and resilience.

🏆 A leader who doesn’t just chase victories—he builds a team for them.
Proud to be led by Azhar Hussain—a captain with heart, vision, and unmatched loyalty. 💪🔥
