North vs South - Mark Jones Memorial Match 🏉
The fourth edition of North vs South was played in memory of Mark Jones, on the one-year anniversary of his passing. Mark gave so much to rugby in Qatar, his passion for the grassroots game and his time with the National Team left a mark that will never fade.
Before kick-off, the Qatar Rugby community came together for a minute’s silence to pay tribute to Mark. A moment of stillness to remember a great man.
On the pitch, the South took the victory but the real win was seeing this community come together for an evening that meant so much to so many.
A special congratulations to Mario Peres, the inaugural winner of the Mark Jones Vets Player of the Year award. A fitting tribute to a man who loved this game 🏆
Thank you to every player, volunteer, referee, coach and supporter who made last night possible.
