The final international seminar and the 6th transnational meeting of the Erasmus + project โ โPOP-UP, Sport for Empowerment and for Boosting Your Personal and Professional Pathwayโ successfully took place on May 19โ20, 2026, in Namur (Belgium).
Over two inspiring days, project partners presented:
- Research findings
- Innovative sport-based methodologies
- Practical guidelines for working with vulnerable groups through sport
The event highlighted the power of sport as a tool for empowerment, social inclusion, personal and professional development and active participation in society.
The programme also included expert discussions, practical sport activities and collaborative working sessions focused on communication, dissemination and the final evaluation of the project results.
The POP-UP project continues to demonstrate that sport can create meaningful social change, strengthen confidence and support integration opportunities for adults in vulnerable situations.
We are proud to have collaborated with partner organisations from Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Poland and Romania, all united by a shared mission: using sport as a catalyst for empowerment and positive change across Europe.
We invite you to explore the project results and discover the practical tools developed within the initiative:

๐ Sport for empowerment
The POP-UP project supports low-skilled adults, especially women, in building skills, confidence, and opportunities through sport.
By combining physical activity with inclusive learning approaches, it promotes well-being, employability, and social integration across Europe.

Sport is not only for those already โin the game.โ
It can be the way back in. ๐
With the POP-UP โ Sport for empowerment and for hoping-up your personal and professional pathway project, we are working to make sport more accessible to those who are often left out โ especially low-skilled adults and women in training and integration pathways.
Across Europe, physical inactivity remains high among vulnerable groups. Yet sport has the power to do much more than improve health - it builds confidence, develops skills, and opens doors to new personal and professional opportunities.
Through POP-UP, we are developing practical tools, inclusive sport activities, and new approaches to connect sport with employability and real-life integration.
Together with partners from across Europe, we are working towards one goal:
๐ making sport a space where everyone belongs. ๐

๐ญ What if sport was more than activityโฆ but a second chance?
Across Europe, too many people - especially women and those with fewer opportunities - remain outside both sport and the job market. Not because they lack potential, but because they lack access, confidence, and the right environment.
Sport has the power to change that. ๐โโ๏ธ
It builds discipline, confidence, social skills - and most importantly, a sense of belonging. These are not just โsoft skillsโ, they are life skills.
When we create spaces where people feel safe to move, learn and connect, we donโt just improve health - we open pathways. Personal. Professional. Human.
Because sometimes, the first step back into societyโฆ starts with a step onto the field.

The European POP UP project is reshaping the way we approach employability through sport ๐๐โโ๏ธ
Through POP UP, we are developing and testing innovative approaches to connect job seekers with employers... by harnessing the power of movement and collective engagement.
On April 1st, this ambition came to life through the co-organization, alongside France Travail, of a unique recruitment event: "Match for Employment".
Here, CVs were not the starting point.
Instead, participants engaged in sports-based activities designed to encourage interaction, spontaneity, and the demonstration of soft skills.
Recruiters and candidates shared meaningful moments, discovering each other in a different way, building connections, and breaking away from traditional recruitment formats.
In a second phase, more conventional exchanges took place, allowing recruiters to present opportunities and candidates to express their interest.
This initiative fully reflects the ambition of the POP UP project: using sport as a powerful tool for social innovation and professional inclusion.
The activities were based on those co-developed within WP4 (Ultimate, Tchoukball, Pull Ball), specifically designed to foster engagement, cooperation, and self-confidence ๐ค

๐ POP-UP is entering the final phase of the project!
โ
We have already completed the testing of our activity sheets, designed to inspire and motivate people excluded from the labour market. We believe that engagement and motivation are the key to embedding these practices in peopleโs lives in a lasting way.
๐ Our next important step is coming soon: a practical guide with concrete suggestions on how to implement each activity.
๐ This is the final stage of the project, but also the moment when our tools gain their most practical dimension and real-life value.
๐ More coming soon โ stay tuned!

๐ต POP UP โ The Erasmus+ project is progressing with WP4!
The European project POP UP โ Sport for Empowerment, developed with our partners in Belgium, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Italy, and France, and other organisations committed to education through sport, is reaching a key stage with Work Package 4 (WP4), dedicated to creating practical tools for support professionals.
๐ ๏ธ Sport Sheets designed as support tools
We are currently developing short, practical sport activity sheets that can be directly used by professionals working in support and guidance contexts.
The aim is to use sport as a structured tool to foster transversal skills within personal and professional development pathways.
Each sheet:
โ follows a clear and operational format
โ specifies implementation conditions (duration, accessibility, equipment, organisation, etc.)
โ highlights a maximum of 3 to 4 transversal skills, linked not to the sport in general, but to the exercise as it is delivered (cooperation, engagement, communication, self-confidence, initiativeโฆ).
๐ A real field-testing phase
All project partners are currently in the testing phase.
Each sheet is being implemented during sport sessions led by professionals and then evaluated through a shared questionnaire to assess:
โก clarity of instructions
โก feasibility
โก safety
โก relevance of educational objectives
โก real usefulness for professionals
This step is essential to refine the tools before their finalisation and wider dissemination.
๐ฏ POP UP is also about
๐น equipping professionals with concrete methods
๐น structuring the use of sport as a tool for empowerment and inclusion
๐น building transferable resources at a European level
We are moving forward together toward simple, practical tools rooted in real field experience. The next steps will be shaped by feedback from the testing phase ๐ฌ
