Back to basics: Crafting a classic Trout Minnow from scratch (A-Z). 🪵🐟 Pure craftsmanship with basic tools and high-end materials. 👇 Professional lure-building supplies link in the first comment! You don't need a factory full of machines to build a masterpiece. Sometimes, all it takes is a block of wood, basic hand tools, and the patience to craft something truly unique for the river.
In this 75-second build, I took a purist, minimalist approach to craft a classic stream trout lure:
Hand-carved and sanded using simple workshop tools.
Precision aluminum foiling for natural flash.
A high-contrast paint job with Createx colors: Fluo Orange belly, deep black back, and distinct blue, black, and Fluo Orange side spots.
Finished with 3D eyes, orange BKK hooks for that premium aggressive look, and sealed in indestructible Devcon 2-ton resin. 💎
I love sharing these step-by-step builds because I want to inspire more anglers to build their own lures instead of just buying mass-produced plastic.
If you want to try this project in your own workshop, I’ve made all the exact supplies used in this video available in my store: the wood, stainless wire, Createx paints, 3D eyes, BKK hooks, and Devcon resin.
