The FAMS journey has been a very fruitful one, and we wanted to honour the amazing progress we have made alongside our partners. With this in mind, last November we organised the final event from under the FAMS umbrella – our International Dissemination Conference. 😄

The event was held in the conference hall of the National University for Physical Education and Sports (UNEFS), in Bucharest, and brought together sports professionals, academia, and young people alike, to discuss the importance and intricacies of female leadership in sports. 🤾‍♀⚽

We are immensely proud of and grateful for the entire experience that FAMS has been, and, despite finishing up with our physical events, we encourage you to stay tuned for more from us in the future! 😉

😊 Today, we’re thrilled to share the success of yet another empowering event done by the FAMS project, this time in Italy! 🇮🇹 In collaboration with our wonderful local partners, the team behind Mine Vaganti NGO, young women gathered this April, to participate in a series of practical, hands-on sports activities. The event was designed to not only engage these young women in sport but to help them develop leadership and teamwork skills that will benefit them far beyond the field.

Throughout the duration of the event, the participants immersed themselves in various sports, from basketball to handball, and more, and engaged in interactive workshops on the importance of physical activity, sports leadership, and overcoming gender barriers in sports. By participating, these young women gained confidence, practical experience, and a deeper understanding of the power of sports as a tool for personal and professional growth.

We’re proud to say that this event was yet another step forward towards creating more opportunities for women in sports and nurturing the next generation of female leaders. A big thank you to our dedicated partners and inspiring participants for making this event a success! Together, we’re paving the way for a more inclusive future in sports. 💪⚽🏅

🏅 Empowering women in sports goes beyond the playing field. It's about fostering leadership, and confidence, and breaking barriers for the next generation of female athletes. 🤾🏼‍♀

Even to this day, girls and women around the world are still held back by social norms and traditional school practices, even within the school walls, thus limiting their access to and quality of education and opportunities, according to UNESCO’s `Gender equality: Women empowerment in sports and science` feature. ”Yet, their education is the most powerful investment to make for society’s collective future”.

Through education, female role models, and creating safe spaces, we can provide the tools and environment needed for women to take on more active roles in the sports sector. From general education and life skills development, to sports-centered training, every step matters in boosting confidence and equipping women with the hard skills necessary for leadership positions. 🏆

Zajednica sportskih udruga grada Rijeke “Riječki sportski savez” organized two National Dissemination Conferences in Rijeka, Croatia, 📅on October 7th and 14th, 2024. During these events, we had the pleasure of presenting the outputs of the Fostering Female Management Leaders in Sport (FAMS) project.
Two events brought together stakeholders, including sport professionals, educators, public authorities, and the general public, all with a shared interest in fostering gender equality and leadership in sports.
We proudly presented the Croatian language versions of all project deliverables, designed to support the growth of future female leaders in sports coaching and management. ✨
