āTake a deep breathā is often bad advice when someone is already anxious.
A lot of people hear that and try to take a huge inhale into the chest, then wonder why they donāt feel calmer.
For anxiety, start softer.
Less focus on pulling air in.
More focus on letting the breath out slowly.
