Потому что здесь Кайл The Kid from Sickklerville Хайнс, дамы и господа.

🇬🇧So, who’s first? Let’s pretend to be surprised, but actually we’re all not! Kyle, The Kid from Sickklerville Hines, in the house ladies & gentlemen.

A person who doesn’t need introduction, although his achievements would be enough for a dozen publications. The 4-time Euroleague champion and the 2-time Mr. Defense firmly occupies the top of our defensive rating and will only move out of there if he really wants to.

The captain at work is an example of discipline and game wisdom; he is more than compensating for the small growth for the position he plays with stunning athleticism, dedication and passion in the heart. Kyle Hines is the foundation & key person in defensive structures of CSKA. It is he who rightfully occupies the defensive Olympus!

We admit that we had questions for the Voigtmann’s game in many aspects when he just joined the team, but since then the German machine gained momentum & right now Johannes is at the peak of form in both defense and attack.
Let's take a look at the facts: 211 cm of technical play and dedication on both sides of the court, he has an average of 8 shots per game & the opponent will miss every second shot.

🇬🇧Johannes, who took over second place of our defensive rating learned all the defensive schemes and help patterns, the opponent sometimes just doesn’t risk shooting the ball, smashing into the wall under the rim. To enjoy the game of the big German, what else is left, but a sudden pause in the season made its own adjustments.

🇬🇧The last of the players in our top who play not on ‘big’ positions, but who can handle them all defenesively is Nikita Kurbanov. Going furhter in the top there’re only giants left, cementing the paint, rising above the rim due to their anthropometric data, taking the main load on their shoulders.

Nikita is an elite defender, equally effective against players of the caliber from Larkin to Poirier. Always on his feet, for years he works on the most complex and critical parts of protective plays. Having the team’ second-highest percentage of individual defense effectiveness on a shot, Kurbi adds a stable long-range to the bank, which makes him a universal option in coach Itoudis’ holder.

🇬🇧Let's put it right away — a real competition unfolded for the 4th and 3rd positions of the rating, and everything was decided in the last game of the period in review.

To be honest, did someone expect to see James in a rating focused on defense? Among fans, and some journalists actually, there is an opinion that Mike does not bother himself with work on the defensive front. However, this is not true. Only by knocking down and rechecking the numbers, we realized the real contribution that Mike James makes on his side of the court. As a bulldog bites into his opponent he steadfastly takes on miss-matches and plays designed by opponent to attack through him. If you look at his graph, you’ll see an interesting mix of “clean” and “dirty” games. Despite the apparent negligence in the protective pattern, which should be attributed to style rather than efficiency, as well as the difficult task of being a leader in every game, James storms our top and this is an obvious fact. Haters will have to deal with it.

🇬🇧 The whole basketball world froze in anticipation of the fate of the championships, a harsh virus limits ourr activities, financial markets are heading into the abyss, but we remain a stable source of basketball in your feed. For the love of Game we continue the journey through our defensive rating!

Joel Bolomboy, our young & extremely promising acquisition occupies his fifth place in CSKA's defensive ranking. Looking ahead, let's say that only a few people on the roster have a higher percentage of individual shooting defense. Functional athleticism, tremendous persistence on the court, desire & ability to learn — these are brilliant traits which come together in a basketball player not that often. We wish Joel to progress after mastering this milestone as you know, defense is the best attack.

Well, what are the forecasts for the first 4 places?

🇬🇧 We’re proud to present our unique project — defensive rating of CSKA players. This is only the first part, the calculations of which include 39 official games held in the Euroleague and VTB United League. Our author’s formula is based on statistics we carefully collect, takes into account many indicators, most of which are not in the official protocols — the total number of shots scored against a player, the number of shots conceded and their value; points which are allowed as a result of shooting fouls; we consider deflections and actions that lead to turnovers; the final value is also affected by official statistics of steals and blockshots, traditionally collected in the protocol.

We will take you to the TOP of the best defenders according to CSKA NATION and, starting from the 6th place, we will go to the heights where the real heroes of the Game reside in the rays of glory and infinite modesty. Each player’s card shows his overall rating, place in the top, as well as a graph reflecting the ratio of goals scored through the player to the total number of goals, broken down by match.

Despite the overall sixth place in the global defensive ranking, due rather to a series of missed games, the brave Italian Danny Hackett is an elite personal defender who neutralizes any opponent on any position. In addition to a tangible protective load, Danny is a full-fledged attacking option for the team and you can rely on him on both sides of the court.

-

We guess that was the idea of Johannes when he was signed on our roster: big, with a deadly shot, stretching the court, imposing threat literally from everywhere. Also, does anyone know the supplier of his riflescope? Because he couldn’t miss from behind the arc that evening, delivering beautiful & effective double-double.

-

Dani was on a special mission in Kaliningrad, there’s no other way to say it — he delivered his best game for CSKA. Aggression on both sides of the floor heated the atmosphere of the Yantarny’ sports palace, which became our home arena for a couple of nights. It was our Italian who arranged the team’s comeback, but also got himself back on a high attacking level, which we all already got used to.

That's the game we’d like to see each & every time by our team! Outstanding defense and fierce attack will crush any team, even such a grand as Fenerbahce! The opponent was cooked in detail during the pre-match analysis & everything turned out to be implemented in accordance with the coach’ plan. Nando De Colo, our old friend didn’t show up — how you think he’d influence the outcome of the game?

Thou who did not believe in St. James - believe!
After all, we had a truly miraculous performance last night @ Megasport arena. This is the time when critics become silent, the player confirms his status of a leader and the team becomes even stronger. Mike James confidently records the match with Khimki to his asset, closing the first chapter of the glorious Leningradka' Derby.
