Today I'm diving at Galapagos Islands! Look at the photos! π
β
π These volcanic islands are situated in Pacific ocean where three different ocean currents get together. Because of this, and also due to the remoteness from the continent, Galapagos Islands can boast of unique and one of the richest underwater (as well as the above-water) biodiversity. It is here that Charles Darwin delveloped his theory of evolution and natural selection.
β
π’ I saw sea turtles, coral reefs, surgeon fish and angel fish π , sea lions and many more.
β
Today? How I did that?

We go through an amazing period of time, that we can use to the advantage of ourselves and our near and dear. So what we could do?
β
β‘οΈ Take care of your home. You can do spring-cleaning (literally) or even some renovations.
β
β‘οΈ Take care of your family - play with your children or talk to your parents for a couple of hours...
β
β‘οΈ Take care of yourself - find interesting and not boring workouts (is that possible?), I gave you some tips in my previous post. Read books that waited for you for so long, and watch movies. You can find some movies about scuba diving in my post about Oscar with hashtag.
β
You can also take online scuba diving classes. Here I can give you three options:
β
1οΈβ£ Study all the theory for SDI Open Water Scuba Diver (OWD) course online with eLearning. This course has a DEMO version, so you can watch and see if you like it. This course gives you information about scuba diving equipment, underwater environment and adaptation to it, planning dives and some emergency procedures. Check the carousel for more information. After this online theoretical course you will be fully prepared for in-water training. The price for this online course is 3600 r.
β
2οΈβ£ Study the same theory online with me by Skype or Zoom. Demo version is also available. Currently I put all my courses in the online mode (see a short episode of my class in Stories). The price is the same, 3600 r. I speak English, French and Spanish (and diver's sign language).
β
3οΈβ£ Take FREE online courses offered by SDI diving agency. The offer is valid until May, 19, normally these courses are payable, and they are free only for this period.
β
They are βΆοΈ Discover Scuba Diving (DSD), βΆοΈ Snorkeling and βΆοΈ Refresher (for already certified divers). These are initial level courses, but you can get a glimpse into the underwater world. I have also shared a report of a student who have done the DSD course just yesterday.
β
βPlease contact me by Direct or WhatsApp (link in bio) if you are interested.

What is in my everyday plan?
β
I have my usual morning routine - a glass of water - morning 5-minutes exercises - shower - breakfast π₯-π€ΈββοΈ-πΏ-π₯£ (I suppose I don't have to remind you that you should clean your teeth as well). I vary the exercises in order not to be bored. Sometimes I do Sun salutation, then classic warm-ups and stretching, I also like Five Tibetan Rites. I took some ideas from Sekta . They taught me a life hack how to start doing morning exercises. You should prepare everything before going to bed - put your sneakers and mat beside your bed, thus you won't have to reflect in the morning. Try it!
β
I also seek to include in my everyday plan some physical activity, a meditation and 20 minutes minimum of "me time". These are things that give me resource, inspiration and energy.
β
I often do physical exercises at home, with videos. There are plentry of good trainers and you can choose the one you like depending on his personality and your level of training. This self-isolation and closed fitness centers is a perfect opportunity to try it. I like . I also have an elliptical cross trainer for warming up, finishing the workout or replacing it in case of complete laziness.
β
Minimum 20 minutes a day I devote to myself. You can find whatever you like, drawing, listening to your favourite music, reading, cooking (for those who enjoy it still). You dreamt of doing a jigsaw puzzle of 5000 pieces? 7000? Perfect! Spend two hours at choosing the most beautiful picture. I'm serious. You will have to look at it for a veeery long time. π
β
I'm doing all this in the intervals between work. It helps me not to get distracted and work effeciently because I know what do I have to do before making a pause.
β
What would you spend your personal 20 minutes of me time for?
30/03/2020
βοΈ As for me, little has changed during this quarantine, just my trips were cancelled. Everyday life is the same. I'm working from home for the last 15 years (my main occupation is translation) and I also do physical exercises at home.
β
I understand that a lot of people have another life now and I would like to share my thoughts about what to do at home to be active, efficient and don't feel that you waste your time.
β
β οΈ First and the most important is planning. Oh, that's so boring, you'd say! I don't agree. Basicly, I plan how to entertain myself both with interesting things (movies, me time, sport) and good work. When I have a plan, I undertand what do I do and if it is efficient.
β
If you have a plan you don't have to figure out what to do. Follow your plan!
β
π I have understood recently that I can plan by time or by task. Interestingly Instagram helped me. I started my account and found out that it consumes a lot of my time. If I planned to write a post, I could spend all day long at it, because it was new for me and I didn't know how much time should I dedicate to it. So I decided to spend 2 hours max for it, and if I have not finished, I'll do it on next day.
β
There are also some other tips - you should alternate useful things with pleasant ones, rest with work, and sport with relaxation. My day builds around one most important thing. It can be scuba diving in the swimming pool, training or translation. Or even a lunch (why should I always keep serious?)
β
What is the most difficult for your concerning this self-isolation? Boredom? Need to stay at home? Stay with your kids?

To be afraid or not to be afraid? That is the question... π€
β
Today we all are attacked with news about coronavirus π¦ But do you know what is the most common fear of those who consider learning to dive? No, not coronavirus. And even not losing money for airline tickets ποΈ (by the way, that is not a big problem now).
β
People are afraid that their equipment fails. That can be understood. Basically they fear to get drown. The equipment is giving us the possibility to breathe underwater and to return back to the surface. It seems that if it fails that is irreversible.
β
βοΈ That is a huge misperception, however. Let me start by saying that modern diving equipment is extremely reliable and conforms to numerous quality and safety standards. Second, the most important details are backed up. Third, there are emergency procedures developed for an unlikely case of equipment failure. These procedures are studied and practiced during diving courses. Provided that you respect diving rules and know what to do in case of an emergency situation, recreational diving is much more safer than many other sports (let me take surfing, kite surfing and rafting as examples of water sports).
β
Oh, all those rules, they are so hard to remember, you'd say! Not at all! They are not more complex than traffic regulations, that every pedestrian knows very well. Moreover, I plan courses in such a way that all procedures are practiced step by step, and in the end my students are not afraid of water or equipment failure anymore π
β
The last but not the least - you are not alone underwater. One of the rules is that you always dive with a buddy π« I think that is the best rule because, together is always better!
β
I hope I took your thoughts away from virus. By the way, has it ruined your plans? Me personally I had to cancel my trip in April. But I stay posilive π
19/03/2020
That is just to remind you that all things must pass, as King Solomon said, and this also will pass. There is always sun behind the clouds.
Meanwhile, we continue to dive in a swimming pool that was cleaned up totally last two days, and sanitizer was added in dressing rooms.
Don't panic, keep calm, and be safe.
How are you these days?
12/03/2020
