I'll tell you about this movie rebreather I made, which depicts a Soviet rebreather from the 1940s. It's made from a life-worn IPSA.
There were two such movie rebreathers on the set of "Admiral Kuznetsov", which I prepared for filming. One was my life-worn IPSA, and the other was an even more life-worn IPSA from the film studio.
It works in an open cycle. Air is supplied from an external cylinder with a reducer through ... a water tap.
The tap supplies gas for inhalation through a hose into a gas mask. The valve box is an imitation - one of the hoses goes through it and ends with a ni**le with a gas mask thread.
In order to breathe in such a device, a good level of self-control is required, since you can inhale only when you open the tap. You can't open the tap for constant supply - the gas mask easily flies off your head as soon as excess air appears in the mask. You need to open the valve just enough so that all the air supplied ends up in your lungs.
It's even more difficult in the frame - you can't exhale while the shooting is in progress, so as not to spoil the picture with bubbles. We had stuntmen with good freediving training working with these devices.

A moment of self-admiration.
In the first two photographs, Olevia Cyber is testing the diving equipment of the “Romanian combat swimmers” in the Moscow River, which I made for the series “Admiral Kuznetsov”.
In the third photo there are “two killed Romanian swimmers” in such devices (the director decided that the Romanians would be in swimming trunks).
The fourth photo shows the original in one of the foreign museums.
It seems to me very similar.

A new step in the Soviet Rebreather Replica project (based on IDA-57).
IPSA arrived today.
Therefore, today I was able to make another estimate of the nodes for assembling a replica-layout, based on which I plan to make a replica from scratch.
Layout on the first photo:

- balloon IDA-72D2
- oxygen supply IDA-72D2
- IPSA scrubber
- counterlung Ural-7
On the second foro IDA-57 (however, as far as I understand the KIP-8 cylinder)
A replica project is a costly business. And now the purchase of IPSA for the sake of a canister did not happen at the right time for the budget. Further costs will only grow.

Новый шажок в проекте Реплики Советского Ребризера (по мотивам ИДА-57).
Сегодня приехала ИПСА (вообще-то это, конечно, "он", но принято говорить о нем в женском роде).
Поэтому, я сегодня смог сделать очередную прикидку узлов для сборки реплики-макета, ориентируясь на который я планирую делать реплику "с нуля".
На первом фото макет:

- подача кислорода ИДА-72Д2
- скруббер ИПСА
- противолегкое Урал-7
На втором форо ИДА-57 (правда на сколько я понимаю баллон КИП-8)
Проект реплики, дело затратное. Вот и сейчас покупка ИПСА ради канистры, не совсем вовремя для бюджета случилась. Дальше затраты будут только расти.
