Hi we’re Viola Elvy and Venne Barker from hursley park cc and we’ll be writing day one’s blog.

We arrived in Kigali at 7am after our 9 hour, sleepless for flight for most!
Lots of chaos in the airport;
Scarlett’s umpiring radios were confiscated, we lost half the group for a good 30 minutes and all the cricket bags were hanging out the pickup truck. But finally we set of straight to Ndera after dropping of our luggage at the apartments.

Once we arrived at the school in Ndera, we set up some fun continuous cricket games for the festival. We were expecting 150 children, we ended up with 300 children instead! Just before we left the school, it started poring down with rain! So we hopped quickly onto the bus and headed over to one of Rwandas top cricketers house; tall Eric! He welcomed all 32 of us into his house. After we all found a comfy seat, a series of cricket matches were put onto the tv, this continued for around 2 odd hours but it was quite relaxing after a long day in the sun.

Rice, salad and some meat for lunch, a couple of photos taken , then straight back to Ndera for some fun and games with the community.

And then finally back to the apartments for some good night sleep!

Well day one was quite eventful!
