Ranao Basketball League

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barry Nader, Technical Director of RBL, a former rated Maranao player in Jeddah, the famous legendary three-point shooter, and one of the most respected and beloved figures in Maranao basketball. He passed away tonight.

Barry was more than an exceptional basketball player and leader, he was a brother, a mentor, and an inspiration to many. His passion for the game, dedication to RBL, and unwavering support for our community have left a lasting mark that will never be forgotten.

On behalf of RBL, we extend our sincerest condolences to his family, relatives, friends, teammates, and everyone whose life he touched. We pray that Allah (SWT) grants him Jannatul ferdaus and forgives his shortcomings, and gives strength and patience to his loved ones during this difficult time.

We humbly ask everyone to please include our Brother Barry Nader in your prayers.

A spectacular game took place last night! The Inter-Maranao Weak Division semifinals were played yesterday, where the undefeated Tuano Clan emerged victorious against Pagayawan. Tuano’s agility proved to be the key to their win, while Pagayawan, known for their 3-point shooting, managed only 5 field goals from beyond the arc, which wasn’t enough to overcome their opponent.

Tuano 96: Baraguir 27, Caricar 20, Arumpac 16
Pagayawan 84: Pauto 35, Alodino 24, Nader 14

The 2nd game featured Saguiaran and Shakba in a tightly contested match. The game remained close until Saguiaran pulled ahead in the 3rd quarter. Shakba nearly tied the game in the final 3 minutes, but Saguiaran’s offense held strong and secured the win.

KH has advanced to the finals in the Mix Weak Division after upsetting KSA Katropa in the semifinals. Katropa couldn’t contain KH’s offense, and although the hot handed Panggo tried to even the score in the 4th quarter, the rally ultimately fell short.

Meanwhile, in the Inter Maranao Strong Division, Taraka started strong and built a lead of over 20 points by the 2nd quarter. However, BIA bounced back with fast-break plays and solid offense to turn the game around. They will now face SND in the finals.

Sporting also advanced to the finals after defeating Triskelion, 112–101. The young guns stepped up as the team knocked down seven 3 pointers, while Triskelion was led by Ortiz, who scored 34 points, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.

In today’s game, Team Pagayawan shocked Team SND with a remarkable comeback. SND was in control during the 2nd quarter, but Pagayawan’s Big Three mounted a strong rally to turn the game around.

Pagayawan advances to face Tuano in the semifinals. Tuano holds a twice-to-beat advantage.

It was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams exchanging the lead several times. However, Triskelion took control in the 3rd quarter, tightening their defense against Brotherhood and converting key stops into fast-break points.
