Donald Trump started a war, helped shut down the Strait of Hormuz, then celebrated a deal to reopen the same waterway that was open before the war.

And somehow this is being sold as genius.

The draft deal reportedly included the release of billions in frozen Iranian assets in exchange for reopening Hormuz and moving toward negotiations.

So let’s simplify this “Art of the Deal”:

Step one: create a crisis.

Step two: make the crisis worse.

Step three: pay or concede your way back to where things were before.

Step four: call it a historic victory.

If Iran gets its frozen money, Hormuz reopens, and Trump gets a press conference, who really won?

Because from here, it looks like America paid the price, Iran gained leverage, and Trump found a way to market damage control as diplomacy.
