FORTIS ARABIA RSK STORM INTO THE QUARTERFINALS AFTER THRILLING 15-RUN VICTORY OVER KASHMIR STRIKERS!
Captain Hazim Hamza leads from the front with a blistering 81 as Fortis Arabia RSK hold their nerve in a high-scoring thriller!
Fortis Arabia Riyadh Super Kings (RSK) booked their place in the quarterfinals with a thrilling 15-run victory over Kashmir Strikers in a curtailed last-league-stage encounter, producing a superb all-round performance under pressure.
HAZIM AND IMTHIYAS PROVIDE A FLYING START
Winning the toss, Fortis Arabia RSK captain Hazim Hamza elected to bat first, and the decision paid immediate dividends as openers Hazim and Imthiyas Banglath launched a brutal assault on the Kashmir Strikers bowling attack.
The opening pair dominated proceedings, smashing boundaries all around the park and putting together a magnificent 85-run partnership for the first wicket. Imthiyas was the first to depart after an explosive 51 off just 25 balls, giving RSK a flying start.
Following the powerplay, Kashmir Strikers tightened their bowling and made scoring increasingly difficult. However, the in-form Inzamam UL HAQ joined his captain at the crease, and the duo steadied the innings with a valuable 69-run partnership for the second wicket.
Hazim continued his spectacular innings, entertaining the crowd with a whirlwind 81 off just 44 balls, including four towering sixes. His outstanding knock laid the foundation for a formidable total.
Despite some excellent death-over bowling from Kashmir Strikers, Fortis Arabia RSK finished with a competitive 199/4 in 20 overs. Inzamam remained unbeaten on a composed 54 off 44 balls, ensuring RSK had a challenging total to defend.
NASIR KAMALβS EARLY STRIKES SET THE TONE
Defending 200, Fortis Arabia RSK made the perfect start as Yasar Ali and Nasir Kamal struck early, picking up three wickets during the powerplay and putting Kashmir Strikers under immediate pressure.
However, Kashmir Strikers refused to surrender. Sami and Imthiyas launched a counterattack, taking on the RSK bowlers and rebuilding the chase with an aggressive 92-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Suddenly, the momentum swung dramatically, and Kashmir Strikers looked firmly in control of the contest.
Just when the match appeared to be slipping away, Waqar Al Huda delivered the crucial breakthrough by dismissing the dangerous Sami, who had scored a valuable 47. That wicket proved to be the turning point as Fortis Arabia RSK fought their way back into the contest, picking up wickets at regular intervals.
At the other end, Imthiyas continued to battle hard, keeping Kashmir Strikersβ hopes alive with a determined effort. But RSKβs bowlers held their nerve in the closing overs, backed by disciplined death bowling and some outstanding fielding.
With the pressure mounting, Fortis Arabia RSK produced a collective effort to restrict Kashmir Strikers and seal a memorable 15-run victory, securing their place in the quarterfinals.
