Do you know why it took Cristiano Ronaldo 27 games to score his first Champions League goal?
It’s simple — he wasn’t even a striker.
Cristiano spent most of his prime years as a winger, doing the hard work — defending, creating, assisting — not just scoring. The same way Chelsea fans don’t expect Neto to score 20 goals a season, or Madrid fans don’t expect that from Vinícius, or United fans from Amad, or even Mbeumo, that’s exactly how Ronaldo started out — a wide midfielder supporting the attack, not leading it.
He only became a striker in his second season at Real Madrid.
That means 8 years of his prime were spent playing from the wings — yet he still managed to score 118 goals in 292 appearances for Manchester United.
Imagine if he had started as a striker from day one. He’d easily be sitting on 1,000+ goals today.
And even though it took him 27 games to open his Champions League account, he still went on to become:
🏆 The highest goal scorer in Champions League history
⚽ The highest goal scorer in football history
A record that will never, ever be broken.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the definition of persistence.
He reminds us that it doesn’t matter how you start — it’s how you finish.
If you believe in yourself even 10% as much as Cristiano believes in himself,
If you work just 5% as hard as he does,
Your life will never be the same.
Because Ronaldo isn’t just a footballer — he’s an inspiration.
Never give up. Never stop. Your breakthrough could be one more game away. 🐐🔥

“Arrows defender Johnson Tawopi and striker Jack Lakapau are currently joining the team training camp,” Oge said.
Oge expressed enthusiasm about Lakapau's performance, believing that his inclusion in the team will propel him further in his football career.
“Lakapau's football performance is looking bright, and I’m looking forward to his next signing. He is a good player, especially up front,” he said.
Regarding Tawopi, Oge acknowledged the young defender's potential, noting the need for further development.

Former KOSSA FC marksman Joe Luwi is set to take charge of the club’s U18 team as head coach.
The Temotu native, who is no stranger to the club, has officially confirmed his availability to lead the youth side following the departure of interim coach Alfie Chacha. Chacha is expected to return to national league action with one of the clubs currently active in the competition.
Luwi, a key member of KOSSA FC’s successful 2008 OFC Champions League campaign, currently resides in West Honiara. His appointment has been warmly received by former teammate and current senior team head coach, Franco Ne’e.
“Joe was a fantastic player in his day, and even now he still dazzles with the ball at his feet,” said Ne’e. “Having him work with these young players will create a positive learning environment. It also keeps Joe involved in the game he loves—and we all know how much he cares about this club.”
KOSSA FC technical staff member Alex Waimora also praised the appointment.
“Joe is not only a knowledgeable footballer, but he also understands what KOSSA FC expects from its players. He’ll definitely help shape the youth in line with the club’s identity and philosophy. The management is thrilled to welcome him back,” Waimora said.
The return of Joe Luwi is a welcome boost for the club, and on behalf of everyone at KOSSA FC, we wish him all the best in his new role.
