🏑 SAFE SPORT DAY
Safe Sport Day is a reminder that every child has the right to enjoy sport in a safe, respectful and supportive environment. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and together we can help create a sport environment where every child feels protected, valued and included.
Esmie Belo
Development Officer & Safeguarding Officer
“Safe Sport Day is a day where we reflect on our responsibilities in providing a safe space for children involved in our sport.
All children have the right to play sport and deserve to enjoy a safe environment free from abuse.
Safeguarding in sport is everyone’s business.
Let’s stand together, speak out, and play our part in safeguarding every child.”
Safe Sport. Safe Children. Stronger Sport. 🏑💙

A Memorable Visit at Hookin4Health Solomon Islands! 🏑🇸🇧🇦🇺
Yesterday, we were honoured to welcome Australian High Commissioner His Excellency Jeff Roach, his daughter, and Second Secretary for Strategic Communication and Public Diplomacy, Charlie Harrison-Gehrmann, from the Australian High Commission in Solomon Islands.
Their visit was filled with smiles, laughter, and friendly hockey as they spent quality time with our young athletes on the field. They also kindly shared bottled water with the participants, a thoughtful gesture that was greatly appreciated by everyone.
Moments like these remind us that sport has the power to bring people together, build meaningful connections, and inspire our young people to dream big.
A heartfelt thank you to the Australian High Commission for taking the time to visit, engage with our athletes, and support the work of Hookin4Health Solomon Islands. We truly appreciate your friendship and encouragement.

Following the first introduction to the Hookin4Health program, Esmie guided participants through our core pillars—Live Well, Learn Well, and Lead Well—during the morning sessions.
Through interactive discussions and activities, participants explored the importance of making healthy choices, valuing education, developing leadership skills, and supporting one another within their community.
In the afternoon, the program came to life on the field as Esmie introduced participants to the exciting game of hockey.
For many, it was their first experience with the sport, providing a fun and active environment to learn new skills, build confidence, strengthen teamwork, and discover the power of sport in bringing people together.

Hookin4Health Reaching New Communities in Malaita Province! 🏑💙
While serving as part of the Solomon for Christ two-week outreach at Talakali Community through the Seventh-day Adventist Church, our Development Officer, Esmie Belo, is also taking the opportunity to introduce the Hookin4Health Solomon Islands program to the local community.
During the mornings, Esmie is leading engaging sessions focused on our three key objectives: Live Well, Learn Well, and Lead Well. These sessions encourage healthy lifestyles, lifelong learning, positive leadership, teamwork, and respect—empowering young people to make positive choices in their everyday lives.
In the afternoons, the learning continues on the field as participants enjoy fun and active hockey sessions, developing new skills, building confidence, and experiencing the joy of sport.
We are proud to see Hookin4Health extending its reach to communities across the Solomon Islands, creating opportunities for young people to grow through education, leadership, and sport. Together, we are building healthier, stronger, and more connected communities—one session at a time.
