To empower young girls, women, people with disability, boys and men through hockey.
Yesterday, our team had the privilege of visiting Ruavatu secondary school on the far eastern part of Guadalcanal province. we we're welcomed by a good number of students who were very excited to see and try out this sport hockey 😊 we started our program with a session on our 3 HI4H objectives, live well, learn well and lead well. doing small talk on how to look after ourselves to become good sports men and women and to be good leaders in the future. we introduce the sport after the session and have the students get to try it out. we finished our program with some fun activities as we wrapped up for the day and are ready for our long ride back to town🥰

It was exciting to see the students learning and trying out the sport with so much energy, enthusiasm, and smiles. Beyond learning the basic skills of hockey, we also shared the important values of the game — teamwork, respect, discipline, communication, and sportsmanship while on the field.
Moments like this show how sport can bring young people together, build confidence, and create positive learning experiences. We look forward to seeing more young students continue to enjoy and grow through hockey in the future.

Shaping kids to become better hockey players is just like parents raising their own children — guiding them step by step with care, patience, and encouragement.
We teach them the basics of hockey, from how to hold the stick properly to learning the skills and understanding the game. But our role goes beyond the field.
We also focus on their wellbeing, respect, teamwork, discipline, and confidence.
Our goal is not only to develop good hockey players, but to help shape good young people for the future.
Through sport, we are helping build leaders, role models, and stronger individuals both on and off the field. Seeing these kids grow, smile, and enjoy the journey is what makes our program so meaningful.

Today we successfully completed our My Hockey Journal sessions with our Under 18 participants here at our development program. It was a great opportunity for everyone to reflect back on the important topics and lessons we have covered together throughout the journey.
These sessions have helped our young participants learn not only about hockey, but also about life skills, teamwork, leadership, respect, and personal growth.
Moving forward, we are excited to continue supporting them through more educational and development sessions focused on nutrition, well-being, mental health, and safeguarding.
A big thank you to Aspire Cairns Community Limited for providing this meaningful journey and supporting us in helping guide and educate the young participants involved in our programs.
We truly appreciate this partnership and we look forward to more opportunities and future journals that will continue to positively impact our future programs and the next generation of young people.

Today, our women's session was led by Esmie Belo, who facilitated an important Safeguarding discussion focusing on the safety and wellbeing of children participating in hockey, both on the field and at home. The session also highlighted the importance of protecting, supporting, and empowering young girls and women within our communities.
Following the discussion, participants headed down to the turf to experience hockey firsthand. It was wonderful to see parents, guardians, and community members laughing, smiling, and enjoying themselves while taking part in the sport.
Moments like these remind us that sport is more than just a game. Hockey brings people together, creates connections, and helps build stronger, healthier communities. Regardless of our backgrounds or where we come from, sport has the power to unite us, inspire us, and bring out the best in one another.
