HNA was proud to host the G75 netball matches which saw our National netballers take on a mixed NZ N AUS side. The national team won both games and also used opportunity to identify areas to work on.

07/08/2017

As part of the G75 celebrations, HNA is hosting the netball matches to be played at Lawson Tama netball courts tomorrow from 2.30pm. The games will see the national training squad play against an Australian navy mixed team, NZ navy mixed team and NZ navy men's team. It will be a round robin format. HNA is facilitating this opportunity in support towards the national netball squad preparation towards the Pacific Mini Games. So if you have nothing to do tomorrow, come on down to Lawson Tama and watch some great matches!!

This serves to provide updates and clarification on a few issues that have been made public by certain individuals that was aired on SIBC and through other forums but not directly to HNA which is a pity.

1) Clarification on Our Telecom funds to HNA
At a meeting convened between SINFED and HNA Executive and clubs last month, those who have attended that meeting will now know that TELEKOM DOES NOT GIVE DIRECT SUPPORT TO HNA. Telekom actually has a funding agreement with SINFED and NOT HNA.

For those clubs that did not attend the meeting last month, this means that if SINFED does not host national tournaments, it does not get funds from Telekom and which also means that HNA doesn't get anything.

In short, TELEKOM FUNDS SINFED AND NOT HNA. If there is any auditing that needs to happen regarding telekom funds, then that auditing has to be done at the SINFED level and not HNA. HNA understands from the meeting with SINFED last month that, the auditing of telekom funds to SINFED has started.

Grateful if this information is explained to every single player, coach, even to supporters so that they are aware of this.

2) Presentation
With clarification now made by SINFED on the Telekom funding, clubs at the meeting would also now know and sharing with everyone that 2016 cash prizes will NOT be the same as previous year. Nevertheless, HNA was instructed by SINFED to go ahead with the presentation even if it means that the cash prizes will not be the same as previous years.

The HNA Executive is now working towards making this event happen (the Presentation). Please be advised that this event is now being moved to 9 September 2017.

In preparation for that, HNA is hosting a series of fundraising to cater for prizes because the fact of the matter is REGISTRATION FEES PAID DOES NOT COVER for ALL THE CASH PRIZES.

In addition, all clubs are requested to come prepared with an item and come in your team colours. More updates on venue will be made known to you close to the date.

3) 2017 League
There will be a league for this year. The format will be different. However, the league will still be in the different divisions. The league dates planned is to start 16 September. So registration will be open mid August.

If there are any questions on anything stated in this email, please do not hesitate to contact HNA through this email.

HNA appreciates those who are able to raise issues directly with the Executive rather than complaining behind the Executive's back.

The Executive members were voted by clubs and teams so rather than complaining and being negative, why not take a positive outlook and work together.

We are only stronger together when we put our heads together to achieve a common goal and that is to promote women's sports and celebrate women's achievements through netball.
